Miami Heat sign new head coach
Miami Heat have just aquired a new head coach, just 24 hours before there first match of the season vs. Chicago Bulls. One would think it was a rushed decision, as they have signed a very unexperienced coach named Ben Evans, who used to play basketball in high-school, but never pursued any career in basketball as his trainer told him he was no good.

Nocioni Impressive, Bulls Start Well
The Chicago Bulls played a great offensive and defensive game, until the fourth quarter, where they let their subs play the full quarter, and still managed to beat the Miami Heat by 7.
Andres Nocioni had some very impressive numbers on the night, he scored 26 points, grabbed 8 rebounds, and handed out 2 assists on a great night for the Bulls. Ben Gordon was also a attacking force, getting 28 points, but turned the ball over 4 times.
Udonis Haslem got himself a double-double, getting 10 points and 12 assists on a terrible day for the Miami Heat where key players like Dwyane Wade and Shaquille O'Neal just couldn't get into full flow.
The loss leaves question asked of Brad James after employing Ben Evans, but maybe we will see in a few matches what he can do, as he had about 24 hours to get to know his team, not a long time if you ask me.

Unlucky loss in first match
|
It wasn't really unlucky, they dominated the first 3 quarters, and then it was like a form of taunting when they put their subs on for the whole of the 4th.

I'm planning on giving him intense training once a week, then normal training every other day so he doesn't get injured. At the moment I'm going to focus on his defence and passing and worry about offense further through the season.

what you can do with Walker

Well if Walker carrys on like he did against the Bulls I'm keeping him! But I'm also looking at a range of other options.

Wade Triple Double, Heat Bounce Back
After Tuesday 83-76 loss to Chicago Bulls, questions were being asked about Miami Heat. On Friday, they were answered.
Dwyane Wade was a monster scoring, rebounding and assisting, getting 39 points, 10 rebounds, 11 assists. After Tuesday double-double, Udonis Haslem was expected of a big game, that didn't happen and he got just 6 points and 8 rebounds. A slight worry for Miami Heat is that Shaquille O'Neal picked up an injury early in the second quarter, and played just 12 minutes all game. This gave Alonzo Mourning a big chance, and he took it, he got 17 points and 7 rebounds.
For the New Jersey Nets, Vince Carter had a good offensive game, racking up 29 points, whilst Jason Kidd had a great playmaking game and ended with 12 assists. Richard Jefferson ended with 18 points, but Carter, Kidd and Jefferson seemed like the only players who had turned up for the Nets.

Heat Get Ford, Posey and Payton Go To Raptors
Miami Heat have signed 23-year-old point guard T.J. Ford from Toronto Raptors, with James Posey and Gary Payton going the other way. When asked about how Ben Evans was going to get cover for the small forward posistion that James Posey was covering for Antoine Walker, he had this to say,
"Well I've been watching young Dorell Wright in training, and I think it's about time to give him some minutes on the floor."
Ben Evans also said this about T.J. Ford, " Ford is a great young talent who can really play, I think we've made a great deal here."

Heat's Fire Put Out, Iverson Impressive
Allen Iverson of the Philadelphia 76ers led his team to a good victory over Miami Heat. Iverson got himself 35 points, and also opened up points for his team-mates, getting 8 assists aswell. Chris Webber gathered his 2nd double-double this season grabbing 11 rebounds and 11 points. Alonzo Mourning once again got some good game time, and came very close to a double-double, getting 9 points and 13 rebounds. Shaquille O'Neal shook off his injury from the match against the New Jersey Nets, by getting 23 points and ending as Miami Heat's top scorer, infront of Dwyane Wade who got 21 points, but very dissapointing on rebounding, getting just 3. T.J. Ford, Miami Heat's new player, had a very dissapointing game, getting just 5 points, 2 rebounds and 6 assists, but after the game Ben Evans assured us that he is a quality basketballer, just that the nerves of playing for a new team took him today. Despite Evans' words in mid-week, Dorell Wright only got 2 minutes on the floor, and got 2 points in them minutes though. Evans also said this is just because Dorell came to him before the match and said he felt slightly ill, and Evans didn't want to risk him.

Seattle Go Down Fighting, Heat Too Much
This game was a match of the year contender, and it's only the 4th match into the season. Miami Heat starting out with a mindset to attack, Dwyane Wade was trying every trick, every spin-move he knew, but Seattle SuperSonics were very resillient. At the end of the 3rd quarter, the scores were tied at 68-68, and I don't know what Ben Evans said to his team, but it worked. In the 4th quarter Miami Heat scored 40 points, and played a solid defence, letting Seattle get just 22 points. Dwyane Wade got his second triple-double of the season, and Shaquille O'Neal got an impressive score once again, getting 26 points. For Seattle, Rashard Lewis, Rodney Rogers and Damian Wilkins were key to their defensive sucess, grabbing 23 defensive rebounds between them, yet no offensive rebounds. Ben Evans was seen in a number of clips looking at Rashard Lewis and talking to his assistant, and we all know Miami Heat are looking for a new small forward, it's just a matter of how much they are willing to give up in exchange.

Wade managed to get his 2nd triple-double of the season, even with Seattle's solid defence.

Heat Leave It Late But Win By 9
The New Jersey Nets were cruising to a victory against Miami Heat, then the 4th quarter came. The Nets were leading 109-87 going into the 4th quarter, and then Dwyane Wade came into action. He was already on 35 points in the first 3 quarters, then he got 20 in the last quarter, and led a great Miami Heat comeback. Shaquille O'Neal helped defensively, getting 18 rebounds altogether. Udonis Haslem got 18 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists, in his first triple-double of the season. Dorell Wright got his first real game of the season, and he looked very comfortable in his first match playing over 10 minutes, he actually played 23 minutes, and got 4 points, 2 rebounds, 5 assists and 3 steals. Vince Carter led the Nets scoring, getting 37 points, but the basketballer who really stood out for the Nets was Jason Kidd who nearly got a very impressive triple-double, with 29 points, 9 rebounds, and an incredible 17 assists. This leaves the Miami Heat with a 3-2 record, and leaves the Nets with a 2-2 record.

Dwyane Wade got 50 points, but he would have had about half of that if it wasn't for Udonis Haslem's assists and offensive rebounds.
