Re: Gadzuric ~ Big Ben extrapolation
Well Dom, there is a reason he only plays 22 minutes a game.....with Gadz' high energy play, putting him on the floor for longer would be foolish, as he would easily run out of gas night in and night out, and probably not be durable over an 82 game season.
If you honestly think we can get 35 minutes a night outta Gadz, then that is your opinion, but I just don't see it happening. Also, Bogut is just world's better than Gadz on the offensive end of the basketball, it really isn't close at all. With Gadz on offense, our half court game suffers greatly, leaving more pressure on our perimeter players to make things happen. Hopefully with a post presence like Bogut, it wouldn't be like that.
With both Bogut and Gadz, we can go fast or we can run the half court games:
Fast Break:
PG: TJ Ford
SG: Michael Redd
SF: Desmond Mason
PF: Joe Smith
C: Dan Gadzuric
(very much like the team in 03-04)
Half Court:
PG: TJ Ford
SG: Michael Redd
SF: Desmond Mason
PF: Joe Smith
C: Andrew Bogut
Being able to consistently play 2 styles of basketball is very important, as it gives you another option on how to win games....with Gadz, we have no half court game........we could even experiment and put both Bogut and Gadz on the floor at the same time.....
Overall, I love Gadz, but he is not a starting center in this league...at 22 mpg last season, he showed that he is best suited as a 15-25 minute high energy and defense player off the bench. In this role next year behind Bogut, I think he will flourish.
