Time to meet up with former Buck Tim Thomas:

Alas, no Sam Cassell on the court.

Which Milwaukee team will show up? The one that uses all of its offenses weapons?

St. Francis - Effort will not be optional for the Milwaukee Bucks on their weeklong trip that opens tonight.

Coach Larry Krystkowiak made that point clear after the team's 2-hour practice Monday.

"Maybe you try to massage people and coerce them into doing stuff," Krystkowiak said. "But I had a great weekend myself and said, 'What are you thinking?' If a guy isn't playing hard and isn't trying to make plays for his teammates and laying it on the line, then I'm not going to play him.

"It's not a threat to anybody. It's just simple basketball."

Krystkowiak said he had no plans to change the starting lineup.

"I'm just going to evaluate each game and try to make the best decisions based on who is giving the effort," he said.

The message apparently was heard by the players.

"If you go out and play hard, Coach is going to give you the benefit of the doubt," forward Desmond Mason said. "But if you don't, the bench will become your best friend. I think that motivates guys a lot."

St. Francis - Finding their way on a trip west is critical for the Milwaukee Bucks, who are trying to shake off the bad vibes of a four-game losing streak.

The Bucks will play five games in seven nights on their longest road swing of the season, starting with a game tonight against the Los Angeles Clippers at the Staples Center.

"The first thing is for us to go out and get one early, get off on the right foot," forward Desmond Mason said. "It's always important to win the first road game, get a little confidence about yourself.

"It's all about performing, bringing energy and intensity. When we were winning games, we were playing the style of basketball we developed in training camp. During the losing streak, we did some things out of character and they cost us games."

The Bucks will take no solace in the knowledge that four of their Western Conference opponents on the trip are sub-.500 teams. After all, Milwaukee sagged last week with three straight defeats to sub-.500 teams in the East (Philadelphia, Atlanta and New York) before dropping a home game Saturday to Central Division leader Detroit.

"Life has a way to jump up and bite you right in the rump when you get comfortable," coach Larry Krystkowiak said of his team's disappointing week, after an encouraging 7-4 start.

"And we just didn't have any gas in our tank on Saturday night against a really good team. We were demoralized. Hopefully we can go out and try to get some of this taste out of our mouths."
Team hopes to stop slide

Big one tonight, we need to start this trip off right. Kaman and Bogut could be an excellent matchup if the Bucks decide to give andrew the ball.

Looks like they did, and Andrew delivered.

19 and 12 and 4 blocks on 8-10 shooting against Kamans 13 and 11 and 6 blocks. Great contest by 2 budding young centers.

Its easy ball when u play inside out.

Re: Game Thread, Bucks Vs Clippers, LA, Dec 4 FSN, bucks +2

I went to bed last night thinking no way the Bucks were coming back but I'm glad they proved me wrong!

Quote:
Michael Redd hit some big shots late and led Milwaukee with 25 points, with all but five coming in the second half. Corey Maggette scored 20 for the Clippers.

The score was tied, 64-64, going into the fourth quarter and two layups by Andrew Bogut were part of a 6-0 run that gave the Bucks a 72-67 lead with 6 minutes 28 seconds left. The Clippers rallied to take a 74-73 lead with 3:59 left on a three-point basket by Tim Thomas, but Redd answered with a three-pointer and the Bucks held on from there.

The Clippers gained the upper hand early, scoring nine straight points to take an 18-9 lead. After a layup by Bogut, Clippers center Chris Kaman hit a jumper and Thomas added two free throws for a 22-11 lead. The Clippers later stretched their lead to 26-14 but the Bucks then scored the final four points of the quarter.

The Clippers scored the first four points of the second quarter and again held a 12-point lead, 36-24, after three-pointers by Maggette and Cuttino Mobley. The Bucks later closed to within six but a layup and rebound-basket by Mobley were part of a 9-0 spurt late the quarter that helped Los Angeles to a 49-36 halftime lead.

The Bucks shot 35.9% in the first half, passed for only six assists and turned the ball over nine times. Maggette had 14 points at the break.

The Bucks began to heat up in the second half as Yi Jianlian, Mo Williams, Desmond Mason and Redd each hit a jumper in a 12-1 run that trimmed the Clippers' lead to 52-48 with 6:59 left in the third quarter. Mason converted a three-point play to cut the lead to 56-53 lead with 3:32 left but Maggette answered with a three-point play 17 seconds later.
Big fourth quarter, Redd lead Bucks
