JSOnline: Bucks stuck in funk
Quote:
Portland, Ore. - Even the rookie can see the Milwaukee Bucks have some issues that need to be addressed.
Like everyone else in the locker room, forward Yi Jianlian would like to get back to the way the Bucks were playing earlier in the season, when they were on a roll and stringing together five straight victories.
The question, though, is how do the Bucks accomplish that feat?
"Every player has to work together and bring their skills together," Yi said in his typical soft-spoken manner, through his interpreter. "We still have some small problems that we need to work out and get out the kinks in our playing. If we can get those ironed out, we'll be fine."
Small problems?
"Our defense on the pick-and-rolls and things like that," Yi said. "We need to get better on help defense. . . playing united defense."

For purposes of clarification, the Bucks are officially in a "funk." The reason we know that is that both coach Larry Krystkowiak and guard Michael Redd said so.
Most bothersome about the loss in Seattle was that Milwaukee shot 37.4%, including a combined mark of 4 for 18 (22.2%) from the reserves.
"That's what we're striving for, trying to get points out of everybody," Krystkowiak said. "If you're looking at shooting percentages and things like that, I think we can improve dramatically in a number of areas. That's one thing we're trying to get a grasp on because we're missing open shots and some decent looks.
"You can't make too much of it. You have to trust these guys to be professional and that they're going to be able to make those.
"We're all a little bit in a funk and we're trying to work our way out of it. We'll get out of it, but I'm not going to put it on any one group of people. I expect everyone to kind of raise the ante a little bit and contribute."
