Coach Larry K wants more use of replay
Quote:
Considering how things have been going for the Milwaukee Bucks, it's probably no big surprise that coach Larry Krystkowiak has become an advocate for an expanded use of instant replay in the National Basketball Association.
It's not as if Krystkowiak has been on a soap box campaigning for the league to alter its rules on replay, but when the subject came up Saturday night before the Bucks' game against New Jersey at the Bradley Center, Krystkowiak said he would be in favor of the league revisiting its rules on how instant replay can be utilized by referees.
"I wouldn't be opposed to it, to be honest with you," he said. "I wouldn't be opposed to having (more) situations where the replay could be used.
"In the NBA, they might be making more decisions than in any other sport with the quickness of play. It's not like (in baseball with) a strike and a ball or every once in a while they've got a bang-bang play at first base. (In the NBA), it's, like, non-stop . . . 200 possessions in a game, and so there's going to be mistakes made."
The referees can go to replay at the end of quarters to see if a player got a last-second shot off before time expired.
Of course, timing is everything in situations like this and Krystkowiak was asked about replay one night after the Bucks thought they were robbed by the referees in a loss to Chicago.

Calling for a closer look
What would really help the Bucks is better plays during the final 3 minutes, then calls wouldn't be an issue.
