Redd "Day to Day"

Quote:
St. Francis - Bucks guard Michael Redd did not practice today after suffering a deep left thigh bruise in Milwaukee's 103-98 victory over the Miami Heat on Wednesday night.

Redd was listed as day-to-day, and it was uncertain if he would be available for the Bucks home game against the Washington Wizards on Friday night.

The Bucks shooting guard did not play in the fourth quarter against the Heat.

"Somebody kneed me in my thigh, and I knew I couldn't go back in the game," Redd said. "I knew it. I couldn't move. I would have done more harm than good, helping the team out last night."

Redd has played in all 31 games this season and is averaging 23.4 points, ranking him eighth in the National Basketball Association. He leads the Bucks in minutes played (38.1 per game) and is averaging 4.9 rebounds and 3.8 assists.

The Bucks (12-19) halted a nine-game road losing streak with the victory in Miami and responded positively after Redd called a players-only meeting on Tuesday after practice.

"It was something that was necessary," Redd said. "It was time to rectify some things and challenge ourselves, man.

The thing is this, though. It's about being consistent in this league. Night in and night out, being able to play with that same hunger, that same passion. We knew after the meeting we would come out and play better last night. It's a matter of carrying that through the rest of the season."
