JSOnline: Bogut enjoying new role on offense

As am I - enjoying his new role in the offense:

Quote:
The Milwaukee Bucks' new offensive strategy that has transformed center Andrew Bogut into a regular contributor has been on display now for a couple of weeks with mostly favorable results.

The Bucks came to the conclusion recently that it would be to their advantage to dump the ball into Bogut in the low post more often to utilize his offensive talents on the block and offset the outside threat provided by the team's perimeter players.

Bogut has posted impressive numbers in the eight games since and they have won four of them.

But the key and crucial question remains: Just why did the Bucks' coach staff decide to make Bogut a bigger part of the offense? Did coach Larry Krystkowiak wake up one morning and suddenly decide that was a direction the team needed to go?

"Well, a little bit," Krystkowiak said. "No. 1, he's a good player. I think he was lacking confidence. You could see it in his body language. And then you start analyzing it from back when you played and you say, 'What gives you a boost?' Usually, it involves having a coach tell you that we're going to put the saddle on you and start riding you.

"And then when we added a number of sets (for Bogut), there's the proof right there that we're not just talking about doing it. We broke down film and guys were looking him off in the post and choosing to shoot jump shots. We called guys out and said, 'Hey, he's open.' And so now he's making shots and he's confident, which means we're confident in it and his teammates are confident in it."

Hard to believe it took 2+ years for them to realize they have a #1 overall pick in the paint.
