JSOnline: Return to comforts of home

Quote:
For the Milwaukee Bucks, it's that time of the season.

Last call.

The most grueling part of the schedule - 24 of 38 games on the road - was laid to rest Wednesday night in Dallas. Now, the Bucks face the most favorable portion of their schedule. Beginning Saturday night against the New York Knicks at the Bradley Center, the Bucks will play 14 of 18 games at home.

As ridiculous as it might sound, the Bucks are still in the playoff race in the sorry Eastern Conference, but if they are ever going to make a playoff push, this would be the time.

"The good news is we're not that far away from striking distance," coach Larry Krystkowiak said. "The talk right now is there's about five teams (going for the final Eastern playoff spots) and you've got to be one or two of them that gets a little hot. There's no gimmes in this league but we have an opportunity to do some damage."

Eight-year veteran Jake Voskuhl has been around the block a few times and knows an opportunity when he sees one. Playing 14 of 18 games at home would certainly qualify as a key and crucial time for the Bucks.

"Absolutely," Voskuhl said. "It's got to be. We've got to get to together and get rolling. Get the guys back who are injured and continue to play as a group and play as a team. It's kind of been the theme all year that when we play together and share the basketball, we're a good basketball team."
8 of the final 14 games are on the road, so they do need to do well now, or forget it.
