Redd committed to Milwaukee
Quote:
St. Francis - Like most everyone else in the National Basketball Association, Milwaukee Bucks guard Michael Redd looked on as some high-profile players in the league changed residences in recent blockbuster trades.
Redd is finishing his eighth season with the Bucks and realizes that the clock is ticking on his career. He's tired of rebuilding and would like to chase a championship.
Does he think there will ever come a time when he will follow in the footsteps of Jason Kidd, Shaquille O'Neal and Pau Gasol and approach owner Herb Kohl to express a desire to seek greener pastures?
"I've told Sen. Kohl this . . . that I'm committed to Milwaukee," Redd said Monday at the team's training center. "I have a six-year deal here and I'm committed to being here through the duration of my contract.
"Who knows in the next two or three years what's going to happen? They may trade me next year or never. I can't control that. But I know I'm committed to serving my time here. Now, it's just a matter of getting it done."
Redd was asked what he thought about the recent flurry of trades.
"I'm kind of indifferent on it," he said. "I want to stay here and win here rather than go to another team and win there. Establish something here. Why can't we win here? That's my mind-set. I never came out and said I wanted to be traded or anything like that because I want to win here.
"But it's a business. Once I saw Ray Allen get traded from here, I'm, like, 'Anything can happen.' I know anything's possible but I don't think about it at all. When you think about it, it affects your play and affects everything. You can't control that."
Redd admits that this had been the most trying season here, that the Bucks' constant rebuilding did wear on him and that he would like to be a part of a championship contender someday.

Redd reasserts commitment
I wonder what kind of trade value he really has.
