Passing of trade deadline making players feel more at ease.
Quote:
It looks as if the all-star break and the passing of the trading deadline were the best things that could have happened to the Milwaukee Bucks.
The mood was dour when the Bucks scattered for the break, after having lost three straight games at home and four straight overall.
But they returned mentally and physically refreshed and have won three of four games since the break.
The trading deadline passed the day before the Bucks' loss in Detroit last Thursday but the Bucks rebounded with two home victories, including Tuesday's 105-102 decision over Cleveland.
"We're competing," said guard Mo Williams who scored a season-high 37 points against the Cavaliers. "That's something we've been screaming all year. I think a lot of good has happened since the trade deadline. It made everybody at ease . . . just go out and play. There ain't nothing happening and nobody's leaving. We're here. I think that kind of eased everybody to just get it, man. This is all we've got. Let's go."
But it's not just that.
"We're just playing well, too," said Williams. "Our problem was we're just so inconsistent. We'd play well one game and then stink it up three or four games. Play well one game or two, then stink it up for six or seven games. Let's see if we can keep this going."
Forward Desmond Mason agreed that the mood had brightened considerably.
"In (the locker room), in practice, and in general . . . I think the city as a whole," he said. "I think management probably feels a little bit better now because we have a rhythm going."

Hmmm. If they had played well before the trade deadline, maybe they wouldn't have been uneasy about it?
