JSONline: Bogut admits to off-center performance

Quote:
OK, let's tackle the easy question first.

Was that a career low for Milwaukee Bucks center Andrew Bogut when he scored just one point in the 119-97 loss to the Philadelphia 76ers Sunday afternoon at the Bradley Center?

No, it wasn't. Bogut had three games previously in his career in which he went scoreless. It was, however, the first time this season that Bogut went without a field goal. His previous season low was four points on two occasions.

Now, the more complicated question: How is it that Bogut, who is averaging 13.5 points and 9.2 rebounds - both career highs, can finish with one point and two rebounds in a game? Granted, everyone is going to have bad games, but Bogut admitted after practice Monday that it went beyond that.

"From a team perspective, it was just a game where we came out flat and like most (of those) games, the result was pretty much defined at halftime," Bogut said. "I struggled offensively. I really didn't get involved in the game at all. I was flat energy-wise and something I need to do is play through that, knowing that I'm going to have games like that offensively. That's something I didn't do, and I need to be held accountable for it, definitely."

Bogut, who averages 11.2 shots per game, took four Sunday. He did tie his season high with seven assists in the 27 minutes he played. He did not play in the fourth quarter.

He has had subpar offensive games before this season. But this time, he concedes, he let it affect his overall game.

"I let it get to me, and I didn't play as well as I could have defensively and rebounding-wise," he said. "I'm definitely used to not scoring a lot on this team but at the same time, I let it affect me mentally and that's something I can't afford to do. Not getting involved in the offense much . . . it was something where I just couldn't get into the feel of the game. We shot a lot of outside shots early and I think that was the main reason for it but at the same time it was mainly myself mentally . . . that was probably the biggest thing to blame."

Re: JSONline: Bogut admits to off-center performance

I guess that shows his frustration with the Bucks offensive plan. Problem is, they lose even when they do get it to him inside. Good to see he admits he didnt give the needed effort, he shouldnt let that happen again.

If im a Bucks fan, id be worried that Bogut isnt gonna stick around come contract time.
