A late 11-point lead vanished for the Bucks tonight, as the Utah Jazz rallied in the final 5 minutes to post a 114-110 victory at the Bradley Center.
Point guard Deron Williams paced the Jazz (43-23) with 26 points and 13 assists. Guard Ronnie Brewer added 21 points, while forward Carlos Boozer had 20 points and 11 rebounds. Center Mehmet Okur also had a double-double with 19 points and 10 rebounds.
Boozer scored the go-ahead basket in the final minute, after a missed shot by Brewer.
Charlie Villanueva and Michael Redd each scored 26 points for the Bucks (23-42), who lost their fourth straight game and third in a row at home. Reserve guard Charlie Bell added 24 points and five assists while playing 36 minutes.
Center Andrew Bogut contributed 11 points and a game-high 15 rebounds, and backup center Dan Gadzuric added 10 points.
Bell hit a pull-up three-pointer to give the Bucks a 90-89 lead with 10:12 remaining in the final quarter, igniting a 12-0 run. Royal Ivey hit a three off an assist from Bell, and Bell followed with a three-pointer on a pass from Ivey on the fast break, after a Jazz turnover.
A driving layup by Bell and later 1 of 2 free throws by the guard completed the run for a 99-89 Milwaukee advantage. The Bucks pulled ahead, 103-92, before Utah scored six straight points to close the gap.
A driving dunk by Williams cut the Jazz's deficit to 105-100 with 3:04 left.
Two free throws by Brewer tied the score at 106-106 with 1:33 left, but the Bucks regained the lead when Redd scored off a slip pass from Bogut with 1:19 remaining.
Williams was fouled by Bell and sank 1 of 2 foul shots, but Utah managed to corral the rebound. Brewer missed a shot but Mehmet Okur grabbed it and fed Boozer for the go-ahead basket, putting the Jazz in front, 109-108, with 46.1 seconds left.
After a timeout, Redd missed on a drive to the basket, and Brewer sank 1 of 2 free throws after being fouled by Ivey. The Bucks still had a chance for a tying basket, but Villanueva turned the ball over on a drive. Okur then sank two free throws with 7.3 seconds left to clinch the victory and give Utah a 112-108 lead.
The Bucks hurt themselves with poor foul shooting, converting just 19 of 29 attempts (65.5%) while Utah sank 27 of 30 free throws (90%).
