They should beat Miami twice, but I'm not holding my breath on even that. The last couple of games have highlighted the absolutely atrocious defense the Bucks play, and that was something Coach K wanted to improve this year. Are the Bucks players just incapable of playing team defense at all?
And why hasn't Sessions been getting much playing time now that he's healed? You'd think they would want to know waht they have with this kid.
The Journal-Sentinel has a story on the play off hopes slipping away:
Quote:
The dog days have arrived for the Milwaukee Bucks.
That's not an easy thing to admit and the Bucks, with 17 games still remaining on their regular-season schedule, would probably be reluctant to do so.
It's an exciting time of the year for the top teams in the NBA that are fine-tuning their rotation for the playoffs, maybe doing a little scoreboard watching, and getting their veterans an extra minute or two of rest when the situation permits.
The Bucks, meanwhile, still have the playoff standings posted in their locker room as they have all season. And it's still possible to pass the time by talking about the fact that they do play in the Eastern Conference where it won't take much to make the playoffs, and gee whiz, wouldn't a late-season surge be great?
But the simple fact of the matter right now is that the Bucks are struggling on any number of fronts. But mostly, they are struggling to find a way to win a game.
One, single game.
"It's been a tough struggle," said point guard Royal Ivey. "We're just not getting it done. Mentally it takes a toll on you but you've got to come back and fight and live another day. Fight another day. That's what it's all about. We get paid to do this. I love my job. I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world so I'm going to come out and play hard and do what I do until the last game."
Said guard Michael Redd: "We just have to try to continue to put it together. We have 17 more games left in the season and we have to keep fighting and plugging away."
The outlook for the Bucks didn't look especially rosy a month ago as they had lost their last four games leading into the all-star break, with three of those defeats coming at home.
But the Bucks came out of the break invigorated and they won three of their first four games with each victory coming against some quality competition - Detroit, Denver, and Cleveland.
