Re: Game Thraad, Bucks at Bulls, 7::30, UC
It would have been interesting to see how this game would have played out if Bogut could play.
And more Sessions at point! I don't think it's co-incidence that the Bucks comeback came about with Mo on the bench and Sessions playing. Now's the time to see what the Bucks have in this kid.
Quote:
Chicago - The Milwaukee Bucks dropped the lid on one of the least successful months in franchise history with a 114-111 loss to the Chicago Bulls on Saturday night at the United Center.
It was the Bucks' eighth straight road loss and ninth in 10 games overall. It also left them with a 2-12 record in March, which will go down as the fifth-worst month in the 40-year history of the franchise. The all-time worst month was March of 1996, when the Bucks won one of 16 games.
Yes, it's been a long month for the Bucks.
"Long month?" said guard Mo Williams. "Long months."
Said guard Michael Redd, "It's tough. It's one of the worst months since I've been in the league."
The Bucks did almost pull the game out after trailing, 98-77, with 11 minutes 8 seconds left, going on a 19-2 run to close to within four on two free throws by rookie guard Ramon Sessions with 7:03 left. The Bucks were still within four with 4:49 left.
Chicago went back up by 10, but the Bucks again came back and a layup by Redd made it 112-109 with 30 seconds to go. Two free throws by Larry Hughes sealed it for Chicago.
"I'm proud of our team," said Redd, who scored 11 points in the fourth quarter. "Even though we were down 20-plus at one point, we did a terrific job of fighting. We did a better job defensively in the second half."
Redd led the Bucks with 33 points, while Charlie Villanueva scored 15 of his 26 points in the third quarter. Seven players scored in double figures for the Bulls. Bucks center Andrew Bogut, who had surgery on his broken nose Friday, missed his second straight game. Michael Ruffin again started in his place.
The Bucks were pleased with their comeback, yet wondered why they couldn't play that way for four quarters.
"It was good," Villanueva said. "But the way we came back, we were passing the ball and guys stepped it up on defense. There weren't any easy baskets. Guys were rebounding. Why can't we play like that the whole game? It's frustrating. I love to play like that (in the second half)."
Villanueva was in the center of the comeback and scored eight points in the fourth quarter.
