Game Thread, Pacers vs Bucks, 4/4/2008, 7:30 pm BC

Of course, this isn't on FSN because they have to air a repeat of today's Giants/Brewers game. So much suspense in a repeat of a baseball game!

Quote:
TEAMS: Milwaukee Bucks (26-48) vs. Indiana Pacers (31-44).

WHEN: 7:30 tonight.

WHERE: Bradley Center.

BROADCASTS: TV - None. Radio - AM-620.

ABOUT THE PACERS: Their playoff hopes are flickering and a 92-77 loss Wednesday in Boston didn't help. The Pacers had scored at least 100 points in nine straight games before playing the Celtics and had averaged 113.8 in the previous six games. But against Boston, the Pacers shot 35.6% and scored their second-lowest point total of the season. Indiana figures it pretty much has to win out to have a chance to make the playoffs.

PLAYER TO WATCH
JERMAINE O'NEAL, Pacers

Against Boston he came off the bench for the second straight game after missing 33 games with a left-knee injury. In 20 minutes, O'Neal had 12 points, three rebounds and one blocked shot. He led a brief Pacers rally that cut Boston's lead from 12 to eight early in the second quarter. O'Neal has missed a total of 40 games this season.

Quote:
The Bucks dug too many holes over the course of the game and kept trying to dig themselves out only to come up short each time. In the end, the Bucks were done in by their poor start. They made just three of their first 15 shots (18.8%), fell behind by eight points only 6½ minutes into the game and unsuccessfully tried the play catch-up the rest of the way.

The Pacers led by as many as 13 points in the second quarter, 11 in the third and nine in the fourth.

"We couldn't quite get over the top," Milwaukee coach Larry Krystkowiak said. "They hit a couple of big threes late in the shot clock. . . . That takes a lot of air out of your sails. We probably missed too many free throws, too.

"It goes back to our first quarter. We kind of buried ourselves. We didn't come out with the kind of energy we really needed in the first quarter and got ourselves down eight points. That seemed to be the deficit we were fighting all night. I would have liked to have come out of the locker room with a little more fire and energy."

Michael Redd scored 28 points for the Bucks, who made 25 of 35 foul shots (71.4%). Center Andrew Bogut finished with 21 points and 16 rebounds and Charlie Villanueva, Bobby Simmons and Ramon Sessions scored 11 points each. Sessions played 31 minutes as a backup to starting point guard Mo Williams, who was limited to 18 minutes because of foul trouble.
