ABOUT THE CELTICS: By defeating Charlotte on Saturday, they clinched home-court advantage throughout the playoffs and set an NBA record for the biggest improvement from the previous season. Boston won 24 games last season. The Celtics won at Charlotte without any of their Big Three as Paul Pierce remained in Boston for the birth of his daughter, and Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen were rested. JAMES POSEY, Celtics

He started and scored a season-high 19 points in the victory over Charlotte. He was a member of Miami's 2006 championship team and until Sam Cassell joined the Celtics, was the only one on the team with championship experience. Posey has been in the playoffs every year since 2004. He is averaging 7.1 points, 4.2 rebounds and 24.1 minutes per game and is shooting 37.1% from three-point range.

PLAYER OF THE GAME: Boston's Kevin Garnett might have had a career night had he played more than 20 minutes. Garnett punished the Bucks in the first quarter as he made all four of his shots, four of five free throws and scored 13 points in 9 minutes. He tacked on six more points in 5 minutes in the second quarter and finished with 21 points.

PLAY OF THE GAME: The Celtics came up with a key four-point play with 3:13 left when Boston's James Posey scored a fast-break layup and was fouled by Bobby Simmons. Bucks coach Larry Krystkowiak thought that Posey traveled and drew a technical.

STATISTICS SHEET: The Bucks turned the ball over 15 times in the first half, leading to 21 Boston points.

OFF THE BENCH: Starting again in place of the injured Mo Williams, point guard Ramon Sessions logged 37 minutes and finished with 13 points, seven assists and six rebounds.

So the good thing of the season - the Bucks may have a point guard.
