Last game thread of the year - Bucks vs Wolves, 7 pm, Minneapolis

Quote:
TEAMS: Milwaukee Bucks (26-55) vs. Minnesota Timberwolves (21-60) in the season finale.

WHEN: 7 tonight.

WHERE: Target Center, Minneapolis.

BROADCASTS: TV - FSN Wisconsin cable. Radio - AM-1250.

ABOUT THE TIMBERWOLVES: Reporters in Minnesota asked coach Randy Wittman the other day what the team needed to improve and Wittman answered by saying "more talent." But he followed that up by saying Minnesota could use someone who can get to the basket, some perimeter defenders, some guys who can shoot and maybe a bit more size. When you've won as few games as the Timberwolves have - they are one of only six teams with fewer victories than the Bucks - the shopping list is long.

PLAYER TO WATCH
AL JEFFERSON, Timberwolves

He's the player Minnesota got in the trade that sent Kevin Garnett to Boston, and the Timberwolves have discovered that Jefferson is better than they thought. Now he is the foundation for a rebuilding franchise and the team will be looking to get a talented player in the lottery to put alongside him. He is averaging 21.0 points and 11.1 rebounds per game.

Quote:
PLAYER OF THE GAME: Minnesota guard Randy Foye scored 10 of his 32 points in overtime. He sank 4 three-pointers, including two in overtime.

PLAY OF THE GAME: Guard Ramon Sessions tossed in a buzzer-beating half-court shot at the end of the second quarter to give Milwaukee a 53-45 halftime lead.

STATISTICS SHEET: Bucks guard Michael Redd scored two points in 27 minutes on 1-of-6 shooting. His only points came on a 20-foot jumper with 2:27 left in overtime.

OFF THE BENCH: The Bucks bench was a bit shorter than usual since the league announced Wednesday afternoon that guard Royal Ivey had been suspended for three games for punching Chicago's Aaron Gray in the groin during Monday's game at the Bradley Center. He will also sit out the first two games of next season.

It just killed me that they brought Redd back into the game in overtime, but somehow this game was a fitting end.
