Coaching search: The Bucks could be in serious competition with the Chicago Bulls and New York Knicks for a head coach.
The Bulls fired interim coach Jim Boylan on Thursday, at nearly the same time the Bucks were firing Larry Krystkowiak. New Knicks President Donnie Walsh fired Isiah Thomas as coach on Friday.
Among the top candidates in Chicago is former Detroit and Indiana coach Rick Carlisle, who also has ties to Hammond.
Former Bulls coach Scott Skiles is a strong candidate for the Bucks job, but the Knicks also reportedly have interest in the 44-year-old Indiana native. Skiles led Chicago to three straight 40-plus-victory seasons before being fired after the Bulls got off to a sluggish start this season.
"I want a coach that's going to be involved in personnel decisions," Hammond said. "I want support from him. I may not agree with all the things he does as coach, and he may not agree with all the personnel decisions. But at the end of the day we have to align
