Skiles happy with Summer League play
Quote:
It was fantastic," Skiles said of the Bucks' overall showing. "We challenged the guys on the first day to represent the Milwaukee Bucks with an all-out effort on the defensive end. I think we had the best team here."
Rookies Joe Alexander and Luc Richard Mbah a Moute got their first taste of the professional game and impressed Skiles.
Alexander shot 2 for 13 in his first outing against Memphis and was just 2 for 11 against Minnesota on Saturday, but the 6-foot-8 forward from West Virginia shot 4 for 9 and finished with a 10-point, three-assist outing against the Cavaliers.
"Joe showed the great athleticism we knew he had, and the ability to make shots," Skiles said of the Bucks' first-round pick in the June draft, the eighth overall selection. "There are a lot of things he's got to learn.
"Luc was one of the best overall individual defenders here, and he made some nice passes. Early in the week he had some easy ones around the basket that didn't go in for him. But he has a nice slashing game where he can cut to the basket.
