Good time for Bucks to get greedy
Quote:
If the Milwaukee Bucks can get greedy, in the words of coach Scott Skiles, they can head into the all-star break on a very high note.
Skiles set a goal for the team to go 8-4 in its final 12 games before the break, following a disappointing 1-5 record in a six-game western road trip in mid-January.
With just two games remaining until the break, the Bucks are at 7-3 since then and poised to exceed the goal. They play Detroit (17-32) at home on Tuesday night and at New Jersey (4-46) on Wednesday night.
And if they win both games, there's a very strong chance they will be among the top eight teams in the Eastern Conference and holding a playoff position.
"By stealing games, I don't necessarily mean a bad team beating a good team," Skiles said of winning games in the lead-up to the long all-star weekend. "I just mean getting games, putting games in your pocket.
"This time of year, it's not uncommon for players to actually be verbalizing what they're doing over the break. It's just human nature, you know, for somebody to turn to somebody else and say, 'Hey, what are you doing over the break?'

I think the Bucks can pass Miami in the standings easily. That team is on a definate downward slide.
