ABOUT THE KNICKS: New York won its first six games before losing at Memphis on Nov. 16. But the Knicks have lost three of their last four, including a 96-89 overtime defeat to the Nets in Brooklyn on Monday night. Carmelo Anthony had 35 points and 13 rebounds in 50 minutes against the Nets. Anthony is the league's second-leading scorer (behind the Lakers' Kobe Bryant) at 26.3 points per game. Veteran guard Jason Kidd will miss the game due to a back injury. Former Marquette University star Steve Novak is a key part of the Knicks' second unit, which also features J.R. Smith and Rasheed Wallace. Novak scored 18 points and sank 5 of 7 three-pointers in the Knicks' 121-100 victory over Detroit on Sunday.
