Minny is trading Wally, for sure.

You can just tell. He's never meshed with the Wolves well, and he's not going to want to come back as a 6th man again. They've been fielding trade options for Ray Allen and Jamal Crawford. I would expect Carter would be a possibility as well. How should it go down?

Arrow just my view on the matter.

Wolves should just go after somebody like Etan Thomas in a sign and trade who can rebound and play defense to help KG out.

There is no use in trading Wally only to get back a similiar player like Ray Allen or Vince Carter, as they will take touches away from KG and for the fact that there is no perimeter player that the Spurs cannot shut down, because lets face it the Spurs will be the main antagonists in the Wolves quest for that gold.

Basically what I'm saying is frontcourt first, backcourt second.

I would love for Wally to play in Orlando. Any chance they may want to trade him to Orlando?

Wally is almost as good as Mike Miller was. It killed the Magic trading Miller!

Did you say Wally is a similar player to Ray and Carter, you should be lucky to even have any of those players on your team, they are way ahead of Wally

Wally is a former NBA All- Star, and 50 % career FG%. They should be able to get good trade value.

Pan Mengtu,

If you don't mind me asking this question. How did you know that they are going to trade Wally away. The reason I asked you that because I've been hearing trades talks prior to 2000-01 season, and this continues to this day. How did you know that it would happen for sure? I'm sure tired of all talks but never happened.

I meant as in they need touches to be effective, I know Carter and Ray are better than Wally could ever hope to be.

I don't know for sure. I think it's going to happen, to the point where I'm almost positive. I'm not positive because I don't have inside sources. They are fielding lots of trades though, and for quality players.

Mainly, I don't think he'll be happy as the 6 man again, but Hassell is better defensively so we need him to start.

we have to trade wally before the season starts, we need hassel and spree starting and we cant afford to pay wally that much money to play 6th man.
i still think trading him to the bulls is the best bet, sure carter or allen would be nice, but we need front court help, bring in tyson chandler and JYD (add madsen in aswell) to give KG some inside help and we'll be fine.

chandler/kandi/tragic
KG/jyd/ jackie butler (summer league)
hassel/ebi
spree/hoiberg
cassel/ (T-hud, fisher, skip??) / stepp

i think ebi will become a pretty good player this year, and i reccon that team will give the championship a good run.

It'll be interesting to see what kind of a player Wally can get. I've seen the rumors involving a 3-way deal involving Wally, Ray Allen and Paul Pierce, but who knows how credible that is. If the T'Wolves can pull off another big deal ala getting Sam Cassell/Latrell Sprewell last offseason, they would have to be the odds on favorites to win it all next season.

I think that wally is a great player, but to add him to a crowed like carter, allen, and paul pierce. I dont think that making a statment like that is fair

Wally's a solid player, but anything he does positive is wiped out by his lack of defense, and his contract. To move him somewhere you'd probably have to take on an equally bad contract, here's something you could do:

Wally Szczerbiak, and Ervin Johnson to Indiana for Scot Pollard, and Austin Croshere.

Croshere is a player who can shoot from the outside, and is nice moving with the ball. Not great at anything, on top of it you lose three years of Wally's contract. The negative is you grab Scot Pollard and have him on the roster for two seasons, and who knows if he'll produce anything, so that would hurt losing Ervin Johnson.

The Pacers add a mid-range shooter in Szczerbiak, who's not afraid to shoot. And a solid body in the post in Ervin Johnson, who's strength is the boards and defense.

Thinking it over, I'm not sure if you could get much better than that for Wally, and that's pretty damned bad.

Someone finally mentions his contract! There is no doubt that Wally is a talent, but his contract stretches beyond the 08/09 season and he averages around $11 million a year. The length of his contract really makes it hard for the Wolves to package him in any deal. You aren't going to get any real talent for him without taking on alot of baggage.
