Would anyone here want Payton as the 3rd PG if it were at all possible?

Would anyone here be interested in swapping Erv for Payton (I think the only contract that would work financially)?

This comes up since Payton refuses to go to Boston and named Minnesota as one of the 3 teams he'd play for (hoopshype.com)...but I don't see any future in it. Maybe if this had happened before we signed Hudson it'd be more dramatic, but I personally don't see where we have room for him to actually play...and since we've already got 7 players eligible for SF and under (out of 11 players total), I don't think swapping a center for a backup-backup PG is really a good idea. Anyone else got thoughts?

No, no, no.

I used to like him to come here... But not anymore. It was like about 5 years ago. I liked him 5 years ago but not now. Look at him, he choked up pretty good in the playoffs especially against Detroit. I'm not going to go for him. I don't like his attitude. I don't like see him declining fast in the Timberwolves jerseys. He is declining quickly when he played with Lakers, maybe it's the case of 4 HOFs. But I don't think we need any more PG. They are expecting Troy Hudson to have more and more playing time. Plus where the money needed for him? I don't think there is enough unless they pull a trade or something... (Thanks to Wally's fatty contract).

no reason to bring in gp...especially if we are giving up big erv to do so. there is no point in having him, cassell, and hudson. he wouldn't get to play at all. and even then, i don't like any trade involving hudson since it was so hard just to get him back. i don't like trading cassell after the way he played last season. and trading what would probably be our starting center or backup...for a third pg, that is just not acceptable. i see no chance of payton coming here.

BTW, Cassell is just too valuable to have GP.

Payton is about 3 seasons too late to want to come here. Now that we have Sam and Troy locked up, payton would be unhappy here.

well silentone 5 years ago he was an all star. I dont think he would play here though. No need to have him as 3rd string pg when you can have blake stepp!!!

5 years ago, I can remember about it vividly, was the rumors spreading out that he could ended up here. Of course it was a completely different story. All of us would die for to have him to come here, but as of recently... He showed how much athletiscm he has lost over the years, emotions running high. Who need negative attitude coming out of him?
