Does the addition of Dampier make the mavericks a top team in the west again? While they aren't in our division anymore, we still may play them in the playoffs and still 3-4 times in the regular season.

I personally think it makes Dallas better, but with or without the post game, I wonder how Dallas will play without Nash to run the break. Will we see the same run n' gun offense or will it get more into a half court set. I think it'll stay the same at the run n' gun, and thus making dampier no better than he was last year, and probably worse considering he'll be sharing the ball with dirk, finley, and howard.

i don't see the need for him in their lineup when shaq left for miami and the eastern conference. they may crack the top 5 but i wouldn't place them no higher then top 4, if they're lucky. so my question to you is...how much better does he really make dallas and if they become an immediate threat to win the west?

team chemistry. payroll. this team i think is just a high payed team and is taking the same path portland did years ago thinking that getting a great deal of players just because they are good would help them out, but no. everyone was saying the mavs last year when they brought jamison and walker there. But they just didnt cut and now they are gone. Then u can include the guy that actually was a team player in nash and now he is off to pheonix. they can bring in dampier, stackhouse, terry, but all these trades were made for one reason and one reason only. TO GET SHAQ, but it didnt work. sorry!
