12th roster spot
Who do you think has the best chance to make the 12th spot? We currently have 11 men under contract. The unsigned players who will be in training camp are:
Kasib Powell
Jackie Butler
Anthony Goldwire
Rick Rickert
Blake Steppe
John Thomas
I know we need a 3rd PG, so Goldwire or Steppe probably either makes the squad or mysteriously becomes on our 3 man injury roster. After that, I think we need a PF, so Rickert, Thomas, or Butler makes sense. Thomas seems like a poor mans Trent, rickert seems too frail (maybe he has bulked up?) Butler is raw, but supposedly has lots of upside. Lets hope McHale and Flip make the right choices

I say just give the spots to Steppe and Rickert, since they are two young guys with potential. The downside to that is if Cassell or Hudson goes down, there's a young guy who will have to play some minutes.
Isn't Jackie Butler a youngster too? He might be worth a roster spot.

id hope we go with either stepp or butler, both are young and talented, stepp could be our 3rd string pg, and butler has huge upside and raw talent.

The 12th spot doesn't usually play...and rickert would be a crowd favorite that would ad excitement during blowout and spot time.
It would make a little more money and maybe keep a few early leavers in the seats and buying beer, food and cotton candy.

i Think ebi is more of a crowd favorite, and if we do trade away wally, he would get minutes. I think you go on and give that last roster spot to rickert. If someone up front gets hurt in a game, we are screwed and we cant just pick rickert off the injuied list in the middle of the game. now I would give 2 IR spots to stepp and jackie butler. Then maybe go talk to this guy named keon clark!

looks like Anthony Carter is also in camp to compete for that 3rd string PG spot.

Yuk. I use to like the guy (as a player, of course) until his disaster with the Spurs last year...

I like the sound of Jackie Butler making the squad. The 12th man isn't a bad position to place a player with the potential to be good a chance. I want to see rickert's game some more. same with stepp. i wonder how john thomas game is looking as well. there are a lot of question marks with these players so hopefully the answer will come soon enough.

I think it will be both Butler and Carter. We need a third point guard, and Carter would be nice to have for his defensive abilities alone. And Butler has showed some great potential and I think he will be a steal. I hope both of them make it.

I see no reason not to keep 14 guys. Ebi can be on IR all season, so there's no reason not to keep Butler, Rickert, and Stepp.
By the way, is anybody else sick of the Yankees?

yeah i hate the yankees. It just isnt fair, it is like giving someone 1 million dollars and then giving another person 100,000 dollars. Then they say this is a contest, whoeveer can come up with a better house wins. who do u expect to win?
