Wallys Future
Does Wally have a long-term future with the Wolves in your opinion or is he likely to be moved at some point this year?
It seems from the outside that he is going to be fighting for minutes that are going to be pretty limited. He still has value, but his contract makes him difficult to move, you guys know much more about his situation than me.
Any thoughts?

i thought he was playing his best ball in the playoffs last year. he should start based on ability but who knows what flip and mchale have up their sleeve, i doubt they know. ideally wally gets moved and he's happy and garnett's happy and so forth and so on but his contract may make that difficult.

This could be a blow for Wolves if they don't get value of Wally in return. Remember, he still contributes lot off the bench for Wolves.

Unless some team out there is really in love with Wally's game, he's not going anywhere. Minnesota would be foolish to trade Wally for bad contracts, and because Sprewell's running on the last year of his contract.

whether he gets traded or not probably depends on if he starts or not. i read an article on nba.com a few days ago and he said he wouldnt be happy coming off the bench, so he may ask for a trade if he doesnt start.

Wally for SAR is perfect for both teams.
Move KG to center. KG/SAR would be sick down low. It wouldn't even matter if Sam and Spree had similar seasons to last year. Being decent roleplayers would be enough. I don't see why this deal hasn't gone down already.

KG ISNT A CENTER, AND NEVER WILL PLAY CENTER. HE IS TOO VALUBLE AT THE PF SINCE HE CAN IN THE BACKCOURT AS WELL, AND AT CENTER, HIS PASSING ABILITY WOULD NOT BE USED. MOVE SAR TO THE SMALL, WHERE HE DOESNT LIKE PLAYING, BUT ITS STARTING AND WHEN YOU START ON A CHAMPION CONTENDER AND PLAY WITH THE REIGNING MVP, YOU WONT ***** MUCH WHEN YOUR WINNING.

i think i have come up with a trade i think would work
wolves trade:
wally
wolves get:
mike sweetney
shandon anderson
I personally love what sweetney does. I think he has a tremendous amount of potential and would be a good fit on the wolves' roster. anderson is anderson, bad contract but i like his style.

As a Blazer fan I can tell you why... Rahim is playing pretty good now at SF.
Can you tell me the good the bad and the ugly on Wally?
Our percepton from the past is that he has been somewhat of a team cancer. Has he had run ins with KG in the past? He has also had some injury problems, and his contract is fairly expensive.
How about this as an alternate trade?
Portland trades DA $8.4 mil + Ruben $6.3 mil with trade kicker + Stepania $1.1 mil= $15.8 mil
$3 mil cash for Rubens trade kicker + maybe a draft pick
for
Minny sends Wally World $9 mil + Hoiberg $1.6 mil + Ervin Johnson $5 mil exp = $15.6 mil
PORTLAND ROSTER
PG Stoudamire, NVE, Telfair
SG Szczerbiak, Hoiberg, Frahm
SF Rahim, Miles, Outlaw, *Khryapa
PF Randolph, (Rahim)
C Ratliff, Johnson, Pryzbilla
Let go: Carlisle
Suspended: Woods

Wally>DA
Hoiberg>Ruben
Erv>Stepania
I would be very surprised if we traded Wally, and if we did, it would be for a guy like SAR, somebody who's a very good player, not a few ok players.

No offense, but damn, it's a good thing for Wolves fans that you aren't running the team, they'd be horrible.
