Game Thread: Minnesota Timberwolves @ Miami Heat
March 10th, 2005 - 6:00 PM (Central Time)
Minnesota Timberwolves (31-30) @ Miami Heat (46-16)
Previous Matchups:
Timberwolves 108, Heat 97
Projected Starting Lineups:
Reserves:
Minnesota looks for their second straight road win and 4th straight overall, but beating Miami isn't going to be easy. Minny beat Miami by 11 points in their first meeting, but a lot of things have changed since then. Shaq and Wade are going to get theirs, so Minny needs to keep guys like Udonis Haslem, Damon Jones, and Eddie Jones to a limit. For Minny, solidifying KG down low is huge, but getting Sprewell and Wally going is going to be a big factor as well. With Miami playing good basketball right now, I'm not sure they can pull this one out.

Re: Game Thread: Minnesota Timberwolves @ Miami Heat
To win this one, the T-Wolves are gonna need big games from at least KG plus one or two other guys. They need to go to Miami believing that they can win this game.
Shaq is gonna get his points unless you can put him on the bench in foul trouble. Just do what you can to keep Shaq from having a monster game. If you foul him, foul him hard and try to keep his shots from going down. We all know what a stinker can be from the free throw line.
Do we have anyone who can kinda contain Wade, or at least slow him down?

Re: Game Thread: Minnesota Timberwolves @ Miami Heat
The first quarter is winding down and both teams are shooting well. Shaq is even hitting his free throws! KG and Troy had good quarters and it looks like the refs are letting them play. Of course, I'm making these observations by looking at a live boxscore only.
Tied at 24 after one quarter. We'll take that.

KG is 4-4 so far, about halfway through the first quarter. I'd like to see him take 20 shots this game. What's going on with all the fouls? Keep it close, Wolves...

Minnesota is playing some darn good ball right now. A nice all-around game for Minny so far.
It's amazing how good Minnesota can play when they are playing aggressive on offense.

Re: Game Thread: Minnesota Timberwolves @ Miami Heat
Maybe I spoke too soon.....Miami has come storming back and are now up by 4 points at the beginning of the 4th. Minny had a comfortable lead in 3rd quarter at one point.

eesh, wolves lose. I do see it as a win. Hudson is finally contributing and hassell had a good game. Kg looks like the last year's version of kg finally. Maybe his knee is better? Its all right. Hopefully we can beat orlando!

I suppose that I should take a peek at the boxscore. What happened, did we just lose it in the fourth quarter?

Pretty much. There was a little 6-0 run by Miami to end the 3rd that didn't help our cause either. But yeah, pretty much sucked in the 4th.

Re: Game Thread: Minnesota Timberwolves @ Miami Heat
My Sonics suffered through a third quarter in our last game against Houston where we were outscored 22-6. We managed to tie it up with a minute left, but lost the game in the final 60 seconds. It takes four good qurters to consistently win games these days.
