Well Spree has finally stopped begging teams to sign him and will join his former teamate/ friend Marcus Camby in Denver. I think it helps us out since Spree will slow down the production over there. Although I am sure he will go off for a huge game agaisnt us. We will see how he does.

Thoughts?

Don't think its a good fit. Denver needs a pure shooter that can defend next to Melo. Sprewell is too streaky of a shooter, and isn't as good of a perimeter defender as he once was.

Isn't this just something Sid Hartman said? I didn't take it as being new news at all. It's Sid. I think he'll end up in Denver, but I wouldn't go calling him a Nugget yet, unless there's someone other than just Sid saying it.

I don't see how Sprewell would slow down Denver, unless he demands 15 shots per game or something. Sprewell is not the shooter that Denver so badly needs, but he's a decent addition for them. It doesn't take Denver up a notch, but it doesn't take them down one either.

Even then...Spree is better then every SG that they had last year. That isn't saying much.

I don't think it's a major blow, but I definitely don't think Spree signing on with a division rival helps us at all. Spree might have been bad for the locker room in Minnesota, but he was still a servicable swingman last season. That's something Denver didn't have last year. Spree has proven numerous times that he can be an instrumental part of a good team if he buys in, and with his best buddy Marcus Camby on the team, I expect that to happen.
