Star Tribune: Hassell plans to launch more three-pointers
Quote:
Trenton Hassell had the ball and some rhythm, so he dribbled once as players rushed by him on the Timberwolves' break downcourt, checked his toes and launched from the right wing, a three-pointer that harmlessly bounced off the rim.
We're basically last in the three point categories last season. I heard KG was doing that as well, but shouldn't he focused on his prime position near the hoops? We've got Hudson, Davis, James, and maybe Foye to take care of that. If so, Hassell's better still having that excellent (not to so many) perimeter defense on the other end.
Re: Star Tribune: Hassell plans to launch more three-pointers
the more hassel adds to his offensive game the better for us, KG doesnt need the 3 pointers... but having hassel on the perimeter able to knock down the 3 when garnett gets doubled would be great.
Re: Star Tribune: Hassell plans to launch more three-pointers
I thought this would happen because before every game last season he would only shoot 3-pointers... He was totally off most of the time. He would hit here and there, but this is what I was expecting...
Re: Star Tribune: Hassell plans to launch more three-pointers
he just needs to be able to hit the open 3 pointer, nothing more.
whenever the defense has rushed out on james/davis, or when they double KG if the rest of the wolves have the option of kicking it out to hassel to sink a 3 ball it would give this offense yet another weapon the opposition would have to think about.

It's true, Jaric was an outlet behind the arc to start the the year and Hassell can also be open. I still like the rainbow from the baseline closer to the hoop, but if he could at least show the 3 that will be good.

exactly right, having that corner 3 pointer as an option can be a big bonus for any team, ala the spurs with bruce bowen

Hopefully the peaseason is like a long warm-up for him to establish that 3 point shooting feeling. He should be back at where he used to doing well in Chicago.
