Quote:
NEW YORK -- Rookie of the year Brandon Roy of the Portland Trail Blazers headlined selections Tuesday to the NBA All-Rookie Team.
Roy is joined on the all-rookie first team by Toronto's Andrea Bargnani (57 points), Minnesota's Randy Foye (48), Memphis' Rudy Gay (39), Toronto's Jorge Garbajosa (37) and Portland's LaMarcus Aldridge (37).

Smith deserves it without doubt.

Re: Foye and Smith in NBA All Rookie teams
foye was third overall in voting which is pretty good, obviously the voters see something in him.
and smith definately deserves his spot on the second team

Re: Foye and Smith in NBA All Rookie teams
I have to admit I'm surprised that he's third in votes. I don't think he has done enough to put into the spot. Many people has too much expectations for him his first year on a crappy team. I hope he'll get himself together and ready to go for his sophomore year. Same thing goes for Craig, too, out of the bench.
Maybe this is a boost for Foye, career-wise.

Re: Foye and Smith in NBA All Rookie teams
it is a weak class regardless, but foye is one of the few who has shown the potential to be an above average performer at this level

Re: Foye and Smith in NBA All Rookie teams
i think they deserved that, this wasnt the best rookie class but it still has some talent,
i liked the selection of foye and smith in their places,
i think all the player on the all rookie team deserved it,
not like in the all defensive FIRST team, please, kobe in that team?????, where is shane battier???????? there are much better defender that him, i think raja bell is a good defender but for a all defensive first team,

Re: Foye and Smith in NBA All Rookie teams
Eh, I wish Foye had gotten snubbed. Part of his problem is that he doesn't play with a sense of urgency. He needs to have some fire under him. Having people give him an award for a mediocre rookie year isn't going to give him motivation to get better.

could go either way i guess, he'll see his stats from this season and i cant imagine 10ppg will make him overly happy.
really looking forward to seeing him and mccants at the start of next season, im expecting big improvements from at least one, and hopefully both of them

Re: Foye and Smith in NBA All Rookie teams
Personally I would've had Foye on the 2nd team. Nice to see him up there though, same with Smith.
