Should we trade McCants while he still has value?
I'm worried that after 2 uninspired years his value is rapidly declining. I'm thinking that if he has a good preseason we should think about trading him.

No way. He is better than Gerald Green. He may never be as good as Foye/Jefferson, but give him time.

Re: Should we trade McCants while he still has value?
I think he's about the same as Green, but a couple of years older. I don't know how much more time you can give him, he went to 3 years of college, should have been NBA ready, but hasn't been good through 2 seasons. I just don't know if he's even going to be a Devin Brown level player, so I just don't know if you can hold on to him.

What value? The guy has proven absolutely nothing and was injured for over half of last season. You're better off just keeping him since you'd get nothing of real value in return at this point.

The only team mccants has true value to is the wolves, we would be trading him for lesser talent...
give him this season to see where he is at, i think he could actually work his way into the starting spot by the end of the year if ricky is gone.
i think Gerald is better suited to a bench role

Truthfully, I didn't see anything so big out of him and he's in his third year already. He needs to step a notch or something to make a value out of him.

Well hes healthy, and he will get the minutes this season so we should finally find out exactly what he can do

With him healthy, then this season is for him to break or lose.

Re: Should we trade McCants while he still has value?
I think it would be a poor idea to do a trade like that. McCants showed a lot of promise at the end of his rookie season. The injury obviously slowed him down last season... It was extremely hard for him to try and catch up when every other player had a half season under their belts. Also when you bring in Mike James and Foye in one summer, the minutes for him dropped. Unless he gets injured again, this will be the season to see whether he is worth keeping. He has an amazing scoring ability, I feel better than anyone on this team. If McCants gets touches and shots, he could be the 3rd top scorer on the team.

My thoughts exactly. I don't think he has any value right now.
