Because you were wondering: Loukas Mavrokefalidis
Remember him? The Wolves drafted Loukas Mavrokefalidis in the 2nd round of the 2006 draft. Thought I'd post on his current situation.
Loukas, 23 years old unless he had a birthday in the past 20 days, is in his first season playing for legendary Greek team Olympiakos. He is one of at least four true pivots on the team: Marc Jackson, Jake Tsakalidis and Ionannis Bourousis the other three. In Euroleague play, Mavrokefalidis is playing the third-most minutes of the four (more than Tsakalidis) at about 10 mpg. He is averaging 3.5 ppg (50% shooting) and 3.8 rpg.
He seems to be playing and producing even less in the Greek league, although the site's English function doesn't appear to work and I don't know Greek, so... But from what I could tell, he's at just over 2 ppg and at 2 rpg in 7 domestic league games.
While he's a big body that we desperately need, it seems difficult to imagine the Wolves going out of their way to bring him over anytime soon unless he's got more potential than his production shows.
