What took the team so long to place Richard to D-League? I think it's Foye who is coming back.

When he was actually given minutes he looked like he at least belonged on the court... ive seen a lot worse players hang around for long careers as 3rd string Centers

I think the D-League is nice enough, but not all that important for Richard other than maybe to keep his confidence or spirits up by getting him some on-court success. The things he will do if he maintains an NBA career are things he does already: work on defense, set good screens, work hard on the boards, convert garbage into buckets. He's never going to grow three inches. He's never going to drop 40 pounds, gain quickness and ball-handling and become a SF. He is what he is, which is an undersized, deep backup / hustle big man.

I'm glad he's doing well in the D-League, and I know he can add some little things to the team, but I'm still not convinced he was worth picking or keeping around--especially when you consider we waived Beno Udrih and Wayne Simien, both of whom I think are better players.

Right now they might be (udrih in particular) i do see potential in Richard though, hes a huge guy and could be a decent rebounder and defender as a back up 5, all beit undersized

But which is harder to find, a decent, undersized but hard-working backup big guy, or a borderline starter-quality PG? I'd argue the latter.

We also have Telfair/Foye though, we have Theo and Doleac at centre neither of which will help long term

Telfair is unlikely to be here next year, and it's pretty safe to say neither Doleac nor Ratliff will be here next year. So again, I'd have leaned toward keeping Udrih. (actually, no leaning...i'd have flat-out kept him)
