If forced to make one trade, which one of the Wolves' purported core players would you trade, why and for whom? McHale and Wittman have generally named the below as their core of the future. Have at it. (The free agents, of course, would have to be a part of a sign-and-trade.) I didn't include Telfair because the team has always been a big more cagey in discussing him, never coming out and saying they intended him to be part of the future, but just that they were feeling each other out. All these others have been specifically named as the core to a future team.

Randy Foye, $2.8m through 09, team option for $3.6m in 09-10.
Corey Brewer, $2.7m through 09, team option for $2.9, then $3.7, in 09-10 and 10-11.
Al Jefferson, $11m, through 13
Rashad McCants, $2.6m through 09
Ryan Gomes, FA (R)
Craig Smith, FA (R)
Chris Richard, FA (R)

Probably one of Foye or McCants, they have the most value besides al and they pretty much play the same spot.

Guys I have a funny feeling that next year Foye is going to have a Brandon Roy season. Alongside with Al Jefferson, that means we need to keep Foye.

I think Foye can step it up bigtime aswell....

Basically if the wolves get rose, trade foye (hes good but rose will be better)

If they get Mayo trade Mccants

I agree that Foye will step up, but I think it's as a shooting guard, and unfortunately, unlike Roy, he's closer to 6-3 than 6-6. I think he'll never be a real PG (more of a guard who can run some point) and will never be able to defend either smaller, quick points or average-sized shooting guards. I can't imagine Foye as a real star, just as a very good player who can really fill it up sometimes. I'd probably look to deal McCants for a PG or big (whichever we don't address in the draft), as he has proved he could come back healthy from his surgery and can score. Try to re-sign Gomes and Snyder cheaply and we've still got Brewer, so the 2-3 are fine with those four as the primary players and Jaric in as a utility guy.
