What a great win for Utah. I was lucky enough to go to this game tonight. This game went back and forth and went right down to the last second. This is by far the best game I have ever attended.

I see Britton Johnson returned from injury. How did he look? Is he back at full strength? What was the key to Utah's win? It looks like defense was the key. Majerus is one of college basketball's best coaches especially when given a few days to prepare.

Britton Johnson looked okay. He struggled a bit on the offensive end especially in the 1st half, most of his shots were short. His defensive along with the rest of the Utes was very good. I don't think Britton Johnson is at 100%, but I thought he was effective out there. I would agree with you that defense was the key to the Utes winning this game. There wasn't any super spectacular defensive plays for the Utes, but Utah's team defense was awesome. The Utes were also able to slow the game down against Alabama which I thought was very important to Utah's success last night.

BTW
Welcome. It is nice to have someone post in the MWC forum. Are you a Utah fan? BYU fan? I am a fan of both except when they play each other and then I am a BYU fan.

Thanks Joe, I like to see anybody in the Mountain West do well. I believe that the Mountain West can someday become a very good conference. But when it comes to conference play I am a huge Utah fan and I will also root for BYU except when they play Utah.
It's good to see both Utah and BYU playing well. I believe this makes the Utah-BYU rivalry even more competitive than it already is.

BYU beat Pepperdine 84-68 on Thursday, bringing them to 10-2 on the season. Rafael Araujo led the way for BYU with 19 points and 11 rebounds. Travis Hansen added 17 points, and Jake Shoff unexpectedly scored 15. It was another home victory..what is the streak at?? Araujo continues to play great and has now raised his average to 10 points and 8 rebounds per game. Hansen is still their best player so far, averaging almost 16 points and 5 rebounds. The Cougs have a big game Saturday against OSU like JoeF said. Does anyone think they have a shot? If the Utes of all teams can win against 'Bama, then I think we have a shot.

42 game home winning streak. Araujo has come to life. He is producing like expected, over last three he is averaging 20/11+. I think they can win if they are consistent. They need the post players to stay out of foul trouble, Hansen and Bigelow to produce from the perimeter, everyone to take care of the ball and play great defense. They are capable of doing it.
