AFA 66 - Althletes in Action 56 Game Summary
Seems like kind of a high score for AFA. They run the Princeton offense. Gerlach, who is one the most underrated players in the MWC, scored 21 on 6-10 including 6-8 from 3 point range and also had 8 rebounds.
UM 97 - EA Sports All Stars 86 Game Summary
NM started 3 guards, forward and a center. The guards dominated. Douglas, Carey and JC transfer Tindall scored 63 points on 21-38 shooting including 11-2 from 3 point range and were 10-11 on free throws. They also had 13 rebounds, 12 assists and 4 steals. The only negative is the three of them combined for 13 turnovers. They also got 20points on 9-13 shooting to go with 12 rebounds from Jamaal Williams off the bench. The forward had 2 points on 1-3 shooting, 5 rebounds and 4 fouls in 17 minutes. The center had no points, 1 rebound 3 blocks and 5 fouls in 16 minutes. It looks like because of their inside players ineffictiveness they may have been forced to go 4 guards with Williams, a undersized PF. Outside Douglas, Carey, Tindall and Williams the rest of the team was 5-15 for 13 points. If those four can put up those numbers they can compete with anyone. If not they can't compete with many teams.
UT 86 - EA Sports 92 Game Summary
Britton Johnson had 23/18 in a losing effort. The PGs showed their lack of experrience. They combined for 20 points 5 assists and 5 rebounds but also had 8 turnovers. The center position also hurt the Utes. They only got 12 points on 7-18 shooting. Koford and Jackson were 7-10 but Frost was 0-8. On the bright side they got 20 rebounds. The biggest problem was perimeter defense/ EA sports hot shooting and turnovers. 19 turnovers is too many. The real difference in the game was EA Sports was 14-29 from 3 point range while Utah was 5-17. Jacobson was 3-6 so the rest of the team was 2-12. The rest of the team is going to have to step up the percentage and everyone is going to have to stop the shooters.
