But the one thing that kind of got to me was the funniest black man alive comment. To say Tracy Morgan is one of the funniest people alive that is fine, but to say black man? Yes I know your "race" newmessiah10 but come on to say he could be one of the funniest black men alive? No need to categorize by "race" whatever ones definition of "race" is... Quote:

I think it's a shame that Morgan gets a network show, when he's not nearly as brilliant as Dave Chappelle who's "relegated" to Comedy Central.
Chappelle's skits aren't as funny as his stand-up, but they're still edgier and funnier than Morgan skits. I guess Morgan is considered the more family-friendly, homogenous product, while Chappelle is "too" edgy for mainstream network programming. NBC was, I believe, the network that cancelled the pretty funny Dana Carvey Show because he wasn't sponsor-friendly enough.

See, I don't look for deep social statements in my humor personally. I think that's one of the things I like about Morgan -- unless I'm missing something, most of his stuff seems like it's just supposed to make you laugh. He doesn't want to promote this or that, isn't trying to raise awareness of a cause; he just wants to make you laugh. Then again, I don't look that deep into my humor, so maybe he does and I just don't notice it.

Chappelle doesn't hide his messages, you don't have to spend time thinking, he satires and notes the inconsistencies with society extremely amusingly...and he also does traditional comedy, with no message.
Very few stand-up comedians can actually make me laugh out loud. Most stand-up comedy is exceedingly generic. Chappelle is so spot-on, has perfect comedic timing, great expressiveness...his HBO special is one of the best comedic performances ever, in my opinion.

You really need to brush up on your reading comprehension because everytime you respond you end up saying more and more dumb things. Like you said no one would think Tracy is funnier, yet there are people who do. Minstrel, Chappelle might get a network show, but it will most likely be on FOX. He has slammed some of the networks before in his stand up act and on his show. I wouldn't expect him to have a sitcom anytime soon (meaning in the next year or two). The reason Tracy got a show are twofold. One, because he is funny and he has paid his dues (by working for NBC and SNL for 7 years). Two, it is the NBC network where his sitcom will reside and Lorne Michaels is an executive producer of the show. Hmmm, the same Lorne Michaels from SNL, coincidence I think not.
