comic book movies are sci-fi action. i'm a fan of the genre more than comic movies themselves. these movies have the potential to bring fantastic stories to life, that's what i love. there has been a HUGE resurgence in this genre and these movies based on the DC and marvel worlds are a big part of that. i just think it's a little prejudical to discount these movies before you know anything about them. as for sequels, the worlds of these characters usually deserve more than one (well done) movie.
the fantastic four would be great nowadays and will probably come in the next decade or so. they have tried, completing an entire movie (about 10 years ago?) but it was too bad to release. it can be obtained though i'm sure.

Was the prejudicial statement aimed at me? Look, who cares if I don't like these movies, I said there's nothing wrong with them. I haven't discounted them without knowing anything about them, I saw spiderman and personally thought it sucked. Saw Xmen, wasn't really my thing, although much better than Spiderman. And I grew up watching these shows and reading the occasional comic as well, so I know the chars and such as well. They aren't the same thing as T3, or Matrix, or Blade Runner, or other movies of that sort. You can call them sci-fi actions, and that's accurate, but they're not the same kind of sci-fi actions. You don't see the differences? I like those movies, I don't care for the superhero movies, no big deal. I'm not saying that because I think they're kiddie or that I had better taste than you, I simply stated that they weren't my kinda movies. I made it clear that it was my opinion, everybody has different opinions. Sure they can bring great stories to life, but they aren't the kind of stories I personally enjoy. There obviously has been a big resurgence, otherwise Spiderman wouldn't have set the records it did, so I must be in the minority, but there's no point in making comments like that just because I don't show interest in a certain genre. I'm sure there are types of movies you don't like and don't give a chance as well, aren't there?

I guess I might've been stereotyping a little bit, when I think of comics I think of superhero's like Superman and Spiderman, there is more of a range though. I mean, wasn't The Crow based on a comic? Didn't like it that much, but it's more geared towards the kinda movie I like than those other ones. So you have a point. The Hulk doesn't interest me much, but if it's supposively awesome I'm sure I'll give it a shot.

Noted B movie hack/legend Roger Corman did a $2M version that was shelved.
A big budget version is being toyed with, but reportedly it would be so damn expensive it can't be made: http://www.mightymarvelmovies.com/fant4movie_2004.htm

Re: The HULK
Ang Lee thinks he knows what went wrong with his much-maligned Hulk.
