Re: Rate the last movie you saw
Life of Pi 6/10
It was good in the sense that I wasn't overly bored, but Pi is no Hanks and the tiger is no Wilson. The movie is a little overstylized like Ang Lee likes to do and overall does a fair job of telling the story. However, it kinda loses the subtlety of the movie so that the average person didn't walk out of there saying, "That was dumb." Rather than understanding the whole metaphor. Great book turned into an ok movie.

Seeking a Friend for the End of the World 3/10
Yeah, this movie really needed there to be chemistry and there was ZERO chemistry between Carrel and Knightley to the point that it was just bad. She's not charming and he's not either. Maybe if it was a likable lead whom we thought deserved love, but he just played a guy who was sad. The three points are for what happens in the world whilst waiting for it to end.

Re: Rate the last movie you saw
I finally watched The Avengers last night and I have to say that these CGI movies are really starting to bore the shit out of me. Or maybe it's just the superhero ones. Half way through I tried to decide if I would have noticed if Zach Snyder had directed it and concluded only just. About the best thing about the film is that it actually does end in the Superhero Cafe with the Avengers all eating shawarma. All that was missing was Batman & Superman. Oh, and Mark Ruffalo shouting "Shawarma!" in the Hulk voice. Maybe they can correct that in the sequel.

Lincoln 9/10
Daniel Day-Lewis gives another outstanding performance. He'll be up for another Oscar IMO.

Safety Not Guaranteed - 8.3/10
A very genuine film about a man who's searching for a partner to watch his back as he travels through time. I really enjoyed this one.

The Hunger Games - 8.5/10
The movie was very well done, and Jennifer Lawrence in particular was extremely believable. Not being part of its target demographic, some of it felt a tad simplistic, but can't really fault the movie for being geared to younger, female, viewers.

The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey - 9/10. It loses a bit because I'm not sure it REALLY needed to be seen in 3D, but was otherwise spectacular.

Silver Linings Playbook
This one gets a major 9.25/10 from me. I really connected with the characters in this movie. Very real emotions on display in this one.

Re: Rate the last movie you saw
It's not a movie, but I spent the day watching the first season of Archer. This rates a MFA/5!. It's seriously funny.

Re: Rate the last movie you saw
Archer is good stuff, the guy who does his voice is hilarious. He also does the main character in Bob's Burgers, which is an enjoyable animated series as well.
The Campaign - 6.5/10 - I laughed, it was worth watching but about what you would expect. J.Edgar - 8.5/10 - Great story, was a little dry at times, but Leo (Pay Ton) did a great job.
