Re: OT-MTV turns 25
ESPN, horrible or not, people still watch it, and complain. Haven't people heard of just dealing with it, and just going with it, whether you like it or not? I don't agree with what some say, and sometimes I do. But I don't need to complain about someone's opinion and say I hate/dislike them because of it. We all disagree on things. It's called real life.
No, I am not saying this because of what anyone said either. |

Re: OT-MTV turns 25
I've said it countless times. MTV should seriously consider changing the name of the show to RTV (Reality Television), because that's all it is. The sooner they realize that nobody watches them for "music" anymore, the better. Then maybe soon enough we'd get an actual music channel to come around and take care of business.

Re: OT-MTV turns 25
Over the past few years MTV has moved from mildly annoying to downright evil. The seamless transition from a rebellious, youthful outlet to an upper-class, idiotic propaganda machine is one of the most baffling things ever. And its getting worse. TRL was bad. "Date My Mom", "Super Sweet 16", "Laguna Beach" encourage a lifestyle for teenagers that turns them into unthinking, trend-loving machines who question nothing and look down on those not wealthy or into crappy pop music as weird or uncool. It is poisoning people like my 17-yr-old sister's minds and I wish somebody would put a stop to it.

Re: OT-MTV turns 25
I stopped watching MTV sometime around 1990. It just seemed like there was so much going on with it besides the music videos--the reason I watched--that I wandered away. Not too long ago I clicked to it out of a sense of nostalgia, which lasted about a minute and a half. It reeked.
I'll check it out again in another ten years or so.

Re: OT-MTV turns 25
Meh..everyones ****ting on MTV b/c of what its become in recent years but its had its share of great programing and certainly had a major influence on tv today as we know it. Personally i like a lot of things it has brought to the table despite the fact its gone to hell these days.
