Anywho, I just watched an interview with Alice Walker, the woman who wrote The Color Purple, most famously. She was talking about a story she wrote called "Everyday Use" which is about a black woman in the 1960s who very shallowly embraces afrocentrism, and rejects her roots, but still wants to cling onto certain artifacts from her roots that she deems valuable. Basically, she embraces her own roots in the shallow way that she embraces afrocentrism. At any rate, Alice Walker said something in the interview that was very similar to what I was planning on saying to you, she said: "What needs to happen to her is she needs to have a breakdown. All people who aren't living truthfully to themselves eventually reach a point where they will have a breakdown." Which is true, I think. I mean we all have the truth revealed to us in one way or another, and I can assure you that the same will happen to your sister or anyone else who values things that simply aren't valuable. As per Kurt Cobain, indeed Nirvana was a wonderful band, and he was a truly visceral. Is the "b-side" or whatever you are referencing Dissonance entitled "Moist Vagina" ?

Re: OT-MTV turns 25
MTV2 is playing crap reality shows as well.
And unlike you guys I don't even give their shows a chance anymore. It's been about 2 years since I watched MTV, so I don't even know if what they are showing is bad.

Why Doesn't MTV Play Music Videos Anymore?
It's obvious, but this is still a funny way to explain it.

I should've just put it though before. Not sure why I didn't. I never stop myself from anything like that. But it's "Moist Vagina." Last edited by Dissonance; 11-13-2012 at 01:20 AM. |

Re: OT-MTV turns 25
In the past 10 years or so, MTV was at its best in light of MJ's passing. They actually had quality videos for a week. Normally they show train wrecks to keep you from switching channels.
It's a disgusting network, but I'll admit to watching their shows before.
