Idk the storys have been great but i dont like Lundy/Lila the romance between Lundy and Debra is just wrong and Lila has just been annoying...And then there is Doakes i really liked him in season 1 and i thought the guy would be one of the better parts of the show other then Dexter himself but now what are they gonna do are Doakes and Dexter gonna work together? Is Doakes gonna try to change Dexter? Or is Dexter just gonna kill Doakes i got to see how the season turns out before i decide on the season overall...But the good thing is that they got rid of the Female Captain they brought in to replace Laguerta god that was a horrible storyline im happy they ended that

Re: Dexter
The last two episodes have been leaked online. I won't post any links here, but if you Google it, you'll get plenty of results (you don't even need BitTorrent with most of the links). I told myself I wouldn't watch the episodes ahead of time, but after reading comments about how crazy the last two episodes are, I couldn't help myself and am currently downloading episode 11 as I type this.
I honestly think Dexter has to be one of the top TV shows of all time. Great writing, great acting, action, drama, love stories (and love triangles), and maybe above all, an incredibly original concept. I mean seriously, how much more original does it get than a mentally deranged serial killer that only kills other serial killers while working right under the nose of the police department as blood spatter analyst? That in itself is original enough, but add to the fact that said main character had his foster father teach him to be untraceable to his crimes and gave him a code to live by while teaching him to appear completely normal and, holy ****, most any other TV show concept seems absurdly dull in comparison. The moral implications this show carries is also a factor in its entertainment. How many other shows have you rooting for a serial killer who is, by all means, mentally unstable? Do you cheer for him as he kills those that deserve to be killed, or do you think its wrong to kill period and he should instead either leave them to the law or turn them in to the proper authorities instead of brutally (or, as Dexter would put it, "cleanly") butchering them? Last week's episode raised the stakes on this viewer moral dilemma as we saw Dexter from a sympathetic Doakes perspective: Dexter is insane. Never before the last two weeks' episodes, where we saw Dexter's work through the eyes of his father and Doakes, did Dexter actually appear to be insane while doing the deed. When Doakes confronts Dexter on the dock as Dexter is about to dispose of a body, the posture and expression on Dexter's face scream deadly and dangerous. Never before had Dexter seemed to be so scary, and the quivering of Doakes' voice, a hardened cop and former Spec-Ops soldier, only backed up that persona he was emitting. Clearly when in killing form, Dexter comes across as someone who definitely needs help, even he can perfectly portray a socially accepted person and put on a perfect, lovable persona. What a great show. I just finished reading the three books and I would highly recommend them to anyone who watches the show. They are just suspenseful as the TV show. |

Re: Dexter
Thanks for the heads up. I saw the final two episodes earlier today. There was just one thing I didnt like but all in all, it was a pretty good ending to the season. Cant wait for season 3.

Re: Dexter
Just went over Ign.com's "Year in Review" and, unsurprisingly (IMO), Dexter won TV show of the year. I don't think it's even close. No other TV show has ever been able to captivate me the way Dexter does. Other shows pale in comparison, IMO.

Re: Dexter
I love Dexter and thought this season was ****ing great, but citing IGN for any type of credible criticism just isn't the way to go. Their reviews are ****ing terrible in everything from movies to videogames to tv. The fact that they even get paid annoys me.

Re: Dexter
I don't watch too much TV outside of sports but I just started catching up to this. I honestly love this show and often finding myself able to relate to Dexter and his dealings with people. I've started on season two today and I find myself kinda reluctant to watch episodes because I have this feeling that something very bad is going to happen.

Re: Dexter
SPOILERS
Season 3 was kind of meh for me. The whole angle with Dexter having a best friend who's sort of his partner in crime and vigilante for justice was interesting and could have showed us a lot, but I don't think the writers really respected the process. They just sort of turned it into a cat and mouse game between Dexter and the DA in the last episodes, and that's been done countless times. The overall question became the typical "Has Dexter finally met his match?" nonsense that you see in a lot of television shows. Once they quickly answered the question of whether Dexter would ever be able to share his secret and his other life with somebody, the season dropped considerably. It was still a solid season, but it was definitely the worst, mostly because of the last few episodes.

Re: Dexter
I will say that I thought season three was worse than the first two. But it's still the best show on TV.

Re: Dexter
I've been enjoying season four. The writers have finally gone back to the sort of black humour that made the first season so brilliant and makes the books so enjoyable. I will say that their departures from Lindsay's characters are generally a disappointment, and the whole Angel Batista/LaGuerta romance is no different in that regard (in the first place, LaGuerta's supposed to be dead, damnit). It's the sort of syrup that just has no place in the Dexterverse.
