Terrence Howard is a good actor, but he's quickly becoming very overrated.

It would be unfortunate (for the movie) if he takes the role... IMO Michael Jai White is the perfect guy to play War Machine. He plays a great man-possessed (like in Spawn, Universal Soldier 2, etc). Incidentally, he does superhero voiceovers. I know if Howard is willing they can't reasonably pass on him (in their mind, based on popularity), but White just fits the role...

That would be cool too, although he tends to make everything a half-joke (even in the Scorpion King he managed to goof off)... If they wanted to transform it into a comic-maniacal character though, he'd be ideal (which they may).

Come to think of it, thats an excellent choice. Ving Rhames also. Howard might not be the best candidate for a guy like War Machine. Howard is a little too mellow for the role

Tom Cruise and Will Smith are good friends. Toss them in the movie and there you go. Of course that's about $50 million for 2 salaries alone, but well worth it.

Just because an actor is big doesn't mean he has a big ego, and it's pretty shallow to think that way. Especially considering the two are supposed to be very good friends.

I don't think he has a "Pursuit of Happy(i)ness" single coming out. I may be wrong, though. Check it out for me.

I thought War Machine wasn't a dead serious guy. Was I wrong?

I haven't read any comics in a loooong time, but I don't remember him as one... The Rock is just too silly IMO to play anything more than a half-serious role, and he doesn't turn from stable to maniacal the way you'd want the person playing War Machine to do... Just my take though...

Some comedic element is a necessity though: Pauley Shore and Stephen Baldwin singing 'Iron Man, Iron Man. Doing whatever an iron can...'

That's really all I can muster up to say. This suit looks fantastic. I love every little detail on it, from the glowing repulsors to the shine in his eyes. This is how the character should be in a feature film of this caliber, and Mr. Favreau seems to have stepped up to expectations in every aspect. Seriously, has someone hoodwinked me and shown me a preview of the Second Coming or is that an actual thing of beauty we'll see in action? I'm still flabbergasted. Movie Iron Man was done superbly in this Mark III form (wonder how Mark II plays in this). I just can't wait until we see how Favreau does on the Mandarin.

Also I think it's safe to say that (while good) the concept art is far surpassed by the real thing.

Here are some more Ironman pictures that have officially gone public, and I have yet to have one complaint as a comic fan in regards to how Ironman is shaping out. Being faithful to the source material visually can be done (if done right & taken seriously).
