Dude you are the only one ragging on this movie. Everyone that has seen it and commented on it has said nice things about it, and this isnt just a BBF thing. Everyone from superherohype to newsarama are gushing about how good it looks. Jeff Bridges skipped my mind when I made my last post, but Howard is definitely one of the best actors in the game. You have about 4 or so Academy Award nominees in the movie, that should lend some type of credibility to how good it might be. Do you think this guys will sign up for a movie they know has no promise. Howard for one is very selective when it comes to scripts he signs up for. He is just not going to take part in a ****ty movie.

Yes or no, don't you need a script for direction when making a movie. Who cares if the writers are unknowns or not, you think the script wasnt scrutinized by the Studios before they went into production. Maybe you are the one that doesnt understand that this movie was not made for YOU or for that matter for Oscar purposes. I can almost guarantee you that this movie will be one of the highest gainers next year.

Oh, ****! I forgot Jon Favreau directed Zathura! Forget anything bad I said about him. Elf was enjoyable because of Will Ferrell, not Favreau. As a matter of fact, Elf is one of the ugliest films in the history of film.

No, you don't, because I never said such a thing, nor am I like those people. If anything, the Evil Dead movies work perfectly with the mood of Spidey stories.

You get what you pay for, and if Cruise had been hired when casting took place, he wouldn't have commanded $25M, as everyone was down on him.

No. Robert Downey Jr. is, at best, a good comedic actor and a decent dramatic actor. He is no where close to one of the best actor of the last 20 years.

Ugh. Mr. Lowest Common Denominator himself. If you're looking to "just have fun," then good for you. For some of us, watching a ****ty movie isn't fun. I'm sure you loved Transformers, but that doesn't make it any less of a stinking pile of ****.

I don't know if you know anything about Iron Man (or film), but Iron Man was Marvel's answer to Batman. A dark, twisted, human story rooted in reality. A womanizing drunk who just so happens to be a weapons expert. Tony Stark is a dark, dark man. Yes, he is charismatic, but he isn't cracking jokes every half second and making pop culture references every other half second.

And I love the way Downey is playing Stark. He is not going to be likeable, heck from that trailer I can already see he is going to be more of a jerk than anything. I think its pure genius, considering whats going on with Civil War and such, you dont want to endear the fans to Iron Man just yet.

he has been posting about how Cruise should've been Ironman for years now. his beef is well established. whether or not it is valid is another question. i'm personally somewhat excited for the movie, but there is no doubt jmk gives a **** a lot more than i do.

Again, Academy Award nominees don't always make good movies. Taking recognized actors and actresses and throwing them into a movie together isn't a good reason to foresee success. No one seems to fit together in this movie. It looks like it is; a bunch of names thrown together with very little thought as to how they'll work with each other.

Why does me saying that I think it will be bad mean that it has no promise?

This is one of the funniest things I've read in a while. Howard is one of the least selective actors in Hollywood. From 2005-2007, Howard has made FIFTEEN movies. That is ridiculous. Funny enough, Howard was the keynote speaker at a local CC here just a week or so ago. When asked how he chooses his roles, his response was, "I do it for the money," and he was serious. No joke. Next I'm going to be hearing how the director isn't really important to a film. Oh, wait.

Not always, no. Regardless, if you think that the script is the final word in the process of a movie, you need to take some elementary film classes.

I'm sure it was, not that that means anything. Studios aren't concerned with making good movies. They're concerned with making money.

And your point is? I'm not allowed to comment on movies that "weren't made for me?" That's preposterous, Hbwoy. Should I say that I dislike gay porn because it "wasn't made for me?" Where's the logic here, Hbwoy?

P.S. I'm a big comic book (and Iron Man) fan, and I'm a lover of great movies. If this movie wasn't made for me, then why should I look forward to it?

Yes, I do. I'm a big Iron Man fan. An Iron Man movie has the potential to be one of the coolest things to hit the big screen in decades. It's pure disappointment for me.

I guess we're seeing wildly different trailers. The Tony Stark that I saw was a light spirited, pop-culture reference wielding, lovable joker of a guy.

Check out those 15 movies and tell me most of them werent quality movies. We are not talking about friggin Samuel L Jackson here. I cant dispute if he does it for money or not as I was not there, but I do recall an interview he had where he says he tries to be selective with his roles and choose films he knows have promise.

Here's a guy who memorized 2 scripts and didnt have a problem getting into both characters. Who is to say 15 movies in two years is not hard on him

Come on now, myspace is a cultural phenomenon in our day and times. Tony friggin Stark isnt living in the ice ages and this is coming from a guy that doesnt even like Iron Man. But you guys are being way too critical of the movie. I love the cast

Bottom line is I am a big Marvel fan. I will probably say the same thing when Thor comes out. The only movie that I know I will be highly critical of is Dr Strange and thats because he is my favorite super hero.
