Umm what do you mean he makes only one movie a year, could that be because of the amount he makes, heck wasnt it not too long ago that his main employers were complaing about his salary

While he is a movie super star, he's not a good actor. We all know it. He just delivers the lines, smiles that idiot smile, and cashes in the money. Tom Cruise isn't a smart ***. He plays a better charismatic jock/loner. This movie is perfect for RDJ because his whole career is based off of being the comic relief that you fear is going to go psychotic if he mixes his "meds" right that morning.

Oh, yeah, high art those Mission Impossible movies. When does part VII come out again? This on top of the list of artistic turkeys I put up earlier. Though I forgot to include Top Gun in that list. (You know a movie's dog awful when the Jim Abrahams parody starring Charlie Sheen is more entertaining.) About the best work he ever did was in Magnolia, but PTA gets good performances out of everyone (see Adam Sandler in Punch Drunk Love). I have a lot more respect for Clooney who openly admits to making turkeys as the price he pays to make better films. And, hey, in the end I agreed with you. To get the really big laughs the star of this movie needs to have a bloated sense of his own talent and ability, to play the role completely oblivious to the absurdity. Robert Downey Jr. is far too snarkey to carry it off. He'll be trying to be funny, which will ruin most of the best jokes.

Dislike the man and/or the actor as much as you want, but he brings in the big bucks. Calling him "Bomb Cruise" isn't accurate or funny.

Oh my, you must be right! The lone franchise is Tom Cruise's resume outshines every other movie. All 3 of those MI's, ey? In order, starting from 1999; Eyes Wide Shut, Magnolia, MI2, Vanilla Sky, Minority Report, The Last Samurai, War of the Worlds, MI3, Lions for Lambs. EDIT. Actually, that wasn't even Cruise in Magnolia. That was P.T. Anderson wearing a Cruise mask. That's just how good he is.

No, it is because he has been wise with his choices in the past, and doesn't need to be working 5 movies a week a la your boy, T-Howard. He makes so much money because he is a smart businessman, not only acting in, but producing his movies as well, and because people pay to see him in the theatres. It's that simple.
