Anyone know about this? I got this from Yahoo! movies. When I was younger a lot of my friends considered me a comic book geek. Now that Hollywood's becoming dependent on these comic book movies I'm proud that I am & was interested in comics b/c I can really understand these movies better than most people. Anyone know more info about it like who they're interested in casting to play Tony Stark.

A few years ago when it first was going to be a movie, They wanted Nic Cage or Tom Cruise, Nic Cage is out of the running and even thou Tom Cruise has said he wants to play the role, They are most likley going to go with a unknow actore like Superman and Spiderman.

Good. I've heard about Cruise being interested in the role. I can't see Cruise or Cage playing Iron Man.

Tobey Maguire wasn't unknown. He wasn't Tom Cruise "known," but he certainly wasn't unknown.

Jon Favreau is Directing. (Swingers, Elf, Made, Zathura)

No word yet on who is going to play Tony Stark. In Pre-production now, set to release 2008.

I was actually thinking about this the other day, like who would win if they fought, because they are both super smart with lots of gadgets, and Tony Stark has the blue skin thing...but then I remembered we're talking about Batman. The man who has contingency plans for contingency plans. The man who in his free time builds things like the OMAC...just to keep an eye on things.

It will be interesting if they make Iron Man a villian, because there is so much character development on that side of the coin. If Tony went to the darkside, he might stand a chance against Batman.

Anyways. Tom Cruise is born to play Tony Stark. There is nobody else who can play him. It has to be Tom Cruise. It's not worth doing the movie without Tom Cruise. I don't know how you can see Iron Man and not go "hey, Tom Cruise should play this guy".

Iron Man was never a huge favorite of mine, but he's gotten very interesting the last couple of years. And I loved that Orson Scott Card origin story.

When on stage Adi Granov said he changed the chest plate back to a circle because he felt that...that was Iron Man's look. Also he's going to show the evoloution of the armor because when Stark is in captivity trying to escape Afghanistan he clealry couldn't make a state of the art weapon with his resources there. He also said towards the end and in future sequels it would evolve into more of a war machine type weapon. Iron Man's main armor will be the red & gold that we're accustomed to influenced by Adi Granov.

If you can't see Tom Cruise as Iron Man, then you've never seen Tom Cruise or Iron Man. They are perfect for each other. Perfect. Almost positive Adi Granov used Tom Cruise as his model for Tony Stark.

Ain't-It-Cool-News has confirmed that "Hustle & Flow" star Terrence Howard has been offered a role in director Jon Favreau's Iron Man:

So, that's the word. Terrence Howard has been offered the role of James Rhodes in the IRON MAN film. No guarantee he'll take it, but I think Howard is one of the most interesting actors working in the business today and his presence in the film will only make it better. Especially if we get to see Howard don a super suit in this film (or sequels) and kick some ***.

We'll have to see how this one turns out. Stay tuned
