are u kidding me ?? f4 was one of the worst movies i've seen....

why the hate on batman begins? i liked the movie...

Graphic novels are generally made up of comics. Sin City came out in comic book form before the arcs were collected and sold in single books. And you can't really make the distinction between the men in tights books being more or less literary, as The Watchmen and Dark Knight Returns are both more substantive works than the Sin City books.

Well, let me take that back and say I judge them on a case by case basis. When I say comics, I suppose I'm leaning towards Superhero stories and graphic novels more real stories, relatively speaking.

Don't get me started on Miller and Batman, though. The man is single-handedly trying to take down Batman.

Now, if you look at some of my early posts of Begins, I hated it. I was extremely brutal towards it. Then I watched it a few more times. And a few more times again. And I love it. It stays extremely true to the source material and produces a great movie in turn.

i watche fantastic four back to back with war of the worlds, and i really hated war of the worlds so maybe it just seemed good by comparison.

then again, most of the time, i consider it a good movie if there is an explosion, people who can shoot electricity out of their hands, a guy that can fly around on fire, and jessica alba in her underwear.

the end of the batman begins drove me insane. the whole time im just thinking, "the microwave thing should be boiling the people too." then everything go backs to normal despite half the city getting infected. for some reason, those people dont tear the city apart or riot. it doesnt seem like an easy task to round all those people up and cure them before they burn everything. then there was the fact that all the crazy people arent scared of each other or even attacking each other, but apparently katie holmes is the devil to them. i really like the first half of the movie though.

Not that anybody asked for it, but here's my ranking of comic book films. I include Sin City, because it features a traditional comic book plot featuring guys with super powers, etc.

1. Spider Man 2 Got to agree with Roger Ebert. Greatest comic book film ever.
2. Sin City
3. Spider Man
4. Superman (how this one is getting left out of the conversation, I can't figure out.)
5. Blade
6. Batman (now it looks dated and cheesy, but you have to give props to the movie that basically kick-started the comic book film genre in the 1990's)
7. Batman Begins
8. X Men 2
9. Hellboy
10. The Crow (wasn't that a comic first?)

now, then. the worst comic book movies I've squandered even a tiny fraction of my life viewing:

#1. Catwoman (Even Hale Berry can't save this, because you simply can't be sexy while being THAT stupid. Not even Hale Berry.)
#2. The Punisher (I'm talking the one from like 1988 starring Dolph Lundgren. So much subject matter. So little effort.)
#3. Fantastic Four (I'll admit to not watching it. But even the trailer made me feel unclean.)
#4. The Hulk. (Ang Lee of Brokeback Mountain and Crouching Tiger made this? It actually wasn't THAT bad, but great directors have farther to fall.)
#5. Elektra (see Catwoman)

that movie was simply amazing. definitely up there with x2 for my favorite comic book movie.

and i wonder if the wolverine's movie will be true to the xmen movie story line or the comic story line.

You need to watch Fantastic Four. It looked bad to me too, but I was dragged to it and it was actually pretty entertaining. I see why people don't like Hulk, but I don't think it's as bad as it's made out to be. Pretty decent.

this is the next upcoming Xmen movie as far as i now.. supposed to be coming out in May 09. quite a ways away. its gonna have Gambit and Deadpool in it. played by Tayler Kitsch and Ryan Reynolds respectively. and Victor Creed aka Sabertooth is gonna be played by Liev Schreiber. im really curious to see how Gambit comes out on film(its about damn time!!).. as well as Deadpool. and also interested in seeing if they have DP break the 4rth wall throughout.

cant wait for a trailer for this

I'm actually a big Ryan Reynolds fan AND a huge Deadpool fan (could Christopher Priest have worse luck? he's great and gets no press) so i can't wait for this. It can't be as bad as Blade: Trinity right?

Well, having Gavin Hood as director should assure this to be more of a serious comic book flick, but I really don't like Schrieber as Creed. I don't like him much as anything, though. Gerard Butler, who was rumored, would have been a much cooler Sabretooth.
