I'm really anticipating this movie though. Joker looks awesome. And sounded too, from that clip we heard of him on the teaser.

Oh, and these pics were leaked early. They were supposed to be out in September I think. They looking to take legal action to whomever leaked em.

Don't quite think you can sue yourself. I'd say the WB leaked these pictures, not some random intern.

Yah, looks like a cheap rip-off of the X-Mansion from the X-Men movies.

And agreed that Batman Returns was a well done film. Michelle Pheiffer rocks as Catwoman.

It's not the batcave. We've already seen the batcave in Begins. That's just a parking garage that Wayne uses while his mansion is being rebuilt.

He's definitely leaner than in Begins, but that's because he had to gain 100 lbs in 6 months after The Machinist (much of which was fat). I'd say he looks closer to his American Psycho physique here, which I think would be perfect. Ninjas aren't big and bulky, they're lean and athletic. And Bale's body in AP is just about perfection. :mancrush:

I don't like the batsuit. It looks too high tech/too many lines for me. I like the traditional suit. I also liked the batmobile of the first two movies. And to whoever said the Tim Burton Batman movies were unwatchable, those were my favorite Batman movies.

I like these movies because they focus more on Batman than Bruce Wayne. It takes a twist on the comics in which instead of being a refined gentleman and has a night-time fetish of dressing up like a bat and arresting criminals, he is a guy twisted so much from the murders of his parents that he has to hunt down bad guys and keeps up an image of being a gentleman to avoid detection.

I like these movies. They're Batman dresses up as Bruce Wayne and not Bruce Wayne dresses up as Batman.

Um, I'm sorry, but that's not really true. For one, the Bruce Wayne to Batman ratio in Nolan's universe is just about the same as in the comics. As a matter of fact, part of why people were so happy with Begins was because it was very much like the comics, unlike the previous Batman movies. This isn't Batman dressing up as Bruce Wayne. Batman doesn't dress up as anybody and Bruce Wayne doesn't dress up as anybody. Unlike almost every other comic, they are the same person.

And, actually, Begins focused on the image of Bruce Wayne more than it did the image of Batman.

And your interpretation of the Batman comics is horribly wrong.

As our resident comics guru (along with futur, Coates, and essbee) I can verify jmk's statement. One of the things so incredible about Batman is that Bruce Wayne appears almost disgusted by the fact he isn't Batman constantly. Nolan definitely twisted the image. Wayne is hardly a playboy in the comics, he's more Howard Hughes than lets say a young Donald Trump. Wayne is reclusive, lonely, and survives not through his Batman "fetish", but rather his Wayne personality suffers because he is Batman, in the truest sense. Loeb's Dark Victory and Long Halloween captures this perfectly.

What Nolan did was say "It would be almost suspect if this reclusive billionaire wasn't Batman" and one of my criticims initally was that Nolan turned Bruce Wayne into Tony Stark, but after a 2nd and 3rd viewing of the film I realized that there is a subtext where Wayne is so sarcastic and dismissive of the things Stark actually enjoys, that you being to realize that Bruce is disgusted by the fact that he has to take time out of his life as Batman, the neverending hunt, to decrease suspicion of himself. And I think from Year One to Loeb's books to Hush to Identity Crisis, Wayne is the altar ego, Batman is the truth.

We've seen leaked actions shots, spy shots, and some small viral shots. Well, here's the first real promo shot of Heath Ledger of the Joker. I think it's going to be a performance for the ages.
