Yeah, theres really no reason that immediately comes to mind why this movie WON'T kick ***.

For those who have read "The Long Halloween" arch by Frank Miller I had heard that Nolan was trying to base his vision in that universe. Do you think I should buy myself a copy of the graphic novels or do you think it'll ruin it for me and that I should wait until after I've seen the movie?

That is almost definitely fake. A fantastic fake, but a fake nonetheless. No light is being refracted off The Joker's arm, the angles are all messed up.

Not that picture is most assuredly real and it looks amazing. If what I'm hearing about Heath maybe getting a little too into the role is true then ummmm this could be one hell of a movie. Hell, just listen to the trailer. Nails the voice. Absolutely nails it.

Long Halloween was actually written by Jeph Loeb. Batman: Year One which was written by Miller was drawn upon heavily for Begins. From rumors about the plot of the movie, it'll be different than Loeb's two books (Long Halloween and Dark Victory) but that Nolan is taking a lot of the aspects of the two books and throwing them into his films.

Oh and I'd recommend buying Year One, Long Halloween, and Dark Victory to anyone. Year One is good, but the art is a little dated. Halloween and Dark Victory are amazing and I'm sure jmk can tell you, essential reading for any Batman fan in addition to being two of the best Batman stories ever.

I'd say that Dark Knight Returns is probably accepted as the best, or perhaps most important Batman story, but The Long Halloween is definitely my favorite. The art is extremely unique, and the story is pure bad-*** noir. Definitely get your hands on it ASAP. Shouldn't ruin the movie at all.

Yeah, that's from a long, long time ago. The manip, at least. The picture is from even longer ago. That's Conrad Veidt from The Man Who Laughs. His character in that film was actually the inspiration for the creation of the Joker.

No love for Hush, thats weird. Thats probably my favorite Batman Arc to date. I dont think a batman story has ever drawn me in as much as Hush did. The way everything falls into place was just amazing

Of course Loeb was behind that. Thats why it just baffles me why Heroes can be so terrible right now, when Loeb is one of the most imaginative people in the business

Jim Lee brought some of the greatest Batman art ever to Hush, but the story really fell apart towards the end. Just too many characters too quickly. It felt like they just wanted to squeeze every single character in there, and it didn't fit.

True, the ending could have been better BUT I loved the way Loeb built up that story. The love interest, the character manipulation, I could live with the rushed ending simply because of the excellent writing, artwork and plot.

On a side note, anyone know what arc Batman's supposed son comes in. I have been trying to get that for a while now
