Dark Knight Casting
Post your own cast/opinions. Here are mine:
The Joker - Vincent Cassel ![]() Obviously has the look spot-on. Cassel is an amazing French actor who has recently been getting more pub in American cinema. He is more than capable of playing the psychotic, deranged, disturbing madman, but he still has comedic chops. I want the Joker to be as disturbing as possible, but there needs to be a little bit of comedy from him (which I feel, will make him even more disturbing). ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Harvey Dent - Joaquin Phoenix ![]() Phoenix has showed how great of an actor he truly is in his latest Best Actor-nominated role as Johnny Cash. He is charismatic, good-looking, and powerful enough to nail the role of Harvey Dent. He is an extremely likeable actor. You can see the passion that Dent needs to have in Joaquin's eyes. He can just as easily play the not-so-good-guy Two-Face. Those same passionate eyes as Dent will be construed as evil when he takes the role of Two-Face. We'll hate him, but ultimately feel horrible for him. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Oswald Cobblepot - David Strathairn ![]() A fellow best actor nominee with Phoenix, Strathairn is a extremely accomplished actor. He will play the mature, slick, crime-boss Penguin that I think there needs to be. I don't want to see a charicature. I want what Strathairn can bring to the table. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Roman Sionis - Guy Pearce ![]() Another top-notch actor who is perfect for the role of Sionis. Women swoon over Pearce, which will only make his horrible disfigurement that much more tragic. Very capable of playing the frustrated, jealous foe. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Salvatore Maroni - Ray Liotta ![]() Well-respected actor who has played the mobster role before. Fits the continuing trend of great actors for Nolan's franchise. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Dr. Harlene Quinzel - Rachel McAdams ![]() Not only is she unbelievably beautiful, she's easily one of the best actresses in film today. She can play the sophisticated, attractive, intelligent Dr. Quinzel, as well as the cute, crazy Harley Quinn. She should have been Rachel Dawes to begin with. One way or another, Rachel McAdams needs to be in this franchise. - Jeremy

re: Dark Knight Casting
Really nice job. McAdams as Harley Quinn really hit it on the head. I'd prefer a guy like Bettany to play The Joker, but I can see why you would choose Cassel. Oswald is a fat guy, so I'm not sure that David Strathairm is the best choice, but he is an amazing actor. Really nice job and I'd go along with every one of those picks minus Strathairm maybe.

It seemed like all the stars were aligning for JMK to make this thread on his 11,000th post.
Creepy.
